At one time or another, everyone on the Internet gets asked to participate in a survey of some sort. Most of us, at least at first, actually go through the whole process and actually finish a survey or two.

But did you know that it’s possible to get paid for doing that? It is! The reason is that the productive machinery of big companies that produce goods and services, depends on consumer decisions. Ultimately in a free-market econony it is the consumer who votes for what he wants and likes, voting with his discretionary spending dollars.

So those in charge of producing are constantly trying to predict what the consumers will want in the future. They turn to market researchers to tell them. The market researchers use consumer opinion surveys to answer the producers’ questions.

The low cost and fast response time of the Internet make it a favorite medium to get the survey takers and survey makers together. To get enough qualified volunteers the survey makers offer to pay the survey takers in cash, gifts or points redeemable for cash for taking each survey.

So how do you get in line to take surveys and get paid for it? How can you receive some of that cash?

You need to position yourself as a potential survey taker. Here’s how:

You need to ask yourself some serious questions before you venture into the home business arena. Although owning your own business at home may be one of your dreams, you first need to determine is you’re ready to operate one. You need to look at a business at home the same way you would look at any other business you’d be working. It must be something you are willing to do with loyalty, devotion, and zeal.

You must have a positive attitude in order to operate you own home business. You cannot take the attitude that you can work whenever it suits you. You need to be available when your customers need you. A home business can’t be treated like a hobby. You can’t simply devote the hours to it that you choose. There may be some businesses where that’s possible. However, if you have a product-based or service-oriented business where you deal directly with customers (i.e., accountant, hairdresser, cleaning service, builder/contractor), you will find it difficult to set your own hours. You need to be open for business and available when it is convenient for your customers. If you have more of a free-lance type of business (i.e., writer, editor, copywriter, etc.), you may be able to set your own hours as long as you meet the deadline for the project.

You need to have both the time and desire to work at home. Some people must be in an environment where they know they have to work certain hours and complete a certain amount of work within a certain time frame. They are not goal-oriented enough to work at home. A business at home probably isn’t going to work for you if you are that kind of person. No one will be there to tell you that you must work certain hours or give you work and expect you to have it finished by day’s end. A business at home won’t work for you if you are unable to set goals and work toward them each day.

Not having to report to a traditional workplace every day can be very appealing. This is true especially during winter months when the roads are bad because of the weather, or during the summer when it would be nice to be outside. It takes a special person to work a business from home. You need to be able to prioritize projects so that work, family, and leisure activities all take their proper places.

Take some time to learn how to devote the time needed for a home business. You will be doing yourself and your customers a disservice if you aren’t goal-oriented enough to work a business at home. If you aren’t ready to operate a home business, it doesn’t mean that you never will. When you’re ready to commit to working at home, then you’ll be ready.

By using your own product or service, you will be able to decide if the opportunity is for you. Choosing just the right opportunity can be very difficult. The first thing you should look at is the products you will be selling or the service you will be promoting. The main thing is for you to be comfortable with the product line, so comfortable that you will use the product(s) yourself. If you don’t use the product you sell it sure is harder to sell it to someone else. If you do not like the product or service, keep looking at other opportunities until you find a product or service you do like.

People want to know that a product works. They want to believe it does what it claims. While you can use other people’s testimonials for proof, the best testimonial you can use is your own. If you use the product yourself it will easier to sell so find a product that you will use and can feel good about selling. Also, if you use the product yourself, you can give examples of how it improved your quality of life or helped you. If you believe in the product and if YOU use the product, it will be easier to get others to do the same. You will then become excited about what you have to offer. That excitement will spill over into your speaking and product promotion, which will increase sales.

This should be no problem considering that you want to try the product or service out first. And although you don’t have to use the product, there may be more tools and resources available to you if you do.

That’s not to say you can answer every question someone may have but you can certainly relate to it and be in a much better position to get the question answered.

As you can see, there are several reasons to try out your own product or service. Use them to see if it is the business for you. You then will become your own best spokesperson. You may even put yourself in a position to receive higher commissions and you will be in a better position to relate to your customers. Whatever the reason, using your own products is extremely beneficial to your business success.

Today I have come across an incredible claim that the book will make my Click Bank account thousands of dollars a day better off! WOW I best get the book from him? Well you see all this person has done is found a picture of some click bank account that has had some success and they have posted it claiming that it is due to a book that isn’t ever released yet!!!! Don’t it make you sick?

Now personally the methods that have been taught to me so far and the methods that thousands of marketers use day in day out to make a living online are honest and stick to the rules of marketing which we would all hope would be to tell the truth?

Building your network of customers and/or clients will be the most important job of all, once you have a home business going. After all, you will not have any reason to have a business, if you don’t have a network of contacts. There is a need for customers/clients in every business. Whether you focus on products or services, it doesn’t matter what kind of business you have chosen. Without benefit of networking, there is no business, online or off, that can survive. You will need to network in order to assure that you constantly have those who are interested in buying what you create, even if you are a service provider of a creative nature.

The idea of networking is not making phone calls to people you don’t know or going door to door. That is not the idea at all. In fact, providing good service is the best networking tool. When you provide good service, your customers will refer others to your business. The best type of networking that you can do is word of mouth. It is always the best sales tool. However, that doesn’t mean that it is, or should be, your only tool. You need to do some networking if you expect your business to be successful, even with referrals. That doesn’t mean that you have to constantly surf the Internet to find others who are interested in what you have to offer, or that you have to get on the phone every day and contact people. To continue to maintain success, you need to take time on a regular basis to performing networking activities. That may vary from simply promoting your website to contacting referrals.

Many new businesses are doomed to fail. That’s because before they are even out of the planning stages, they have underemphasized the value of networking. If you expect your business to succeed, you have to promote it. How you choose to network your business is not the issue. You will not be in business very long if you think that once you have your client base, you no longer have to promote it. Do not be fooled into thinking that! Customers may not always buy goods or services from you because they can be so fickle. For those times when “regular” customers decide to utilize the services of another provider, you need to have a backup plan. Unless you are an inventor, or unless your product or service is quite unique, people will go elsewhere to find the products or services that they want at the price they want to pay. By continually networking for new customers, you will always be prepared for these slow times.

Working at home has a nice ring to it and many see being able to set their own hours as a dream come true. For those who have little or no self-discipline, that dream can quickly turn into a nightmare. There may be times when a deadline is approaching as well as your favorite sports team on television. Without the discipline to set your priorities to your work, your home business will fail.

When you make the commitment to work from home, you are telling your clients or customers that you are ready to do whatever it takes to get the job done within the promised time. When you continually fail to do that, you are telling them that you do not care about their needs and your time is more important to you than their project.

When you work from home, if there is no one around a majority of the day then there should be no distractions to keep you from getting your work done. When you first begin working at home, the first few days may be wasted as you get up in the mornings and think about not having to go anywhere. How nice it is that you can work whenever you feel like it. Soon, however, you may find yourself struggling to hit deadlines and having trouble finding new projects.

One tip about working from home is that while you can work in your pajamas, until you are settled into your routine of working at home, get up in the morning and get dressed for work. Hit the office at a specified time and establish regular hours.
