Those of us who have been “new” online marketers want to find a catchy domain name, build a wild site with all the bells and whistles then sit back and watch the money roll in.
But…guess what? “It ain’t gonna happen!”
Excuse the grammar but as the saying goes: nothing worthwhile comes easy. Or
something to that effect. Becoming a successful online businessperson is no
exception.
Of course we all want to see our dreams of online success happen as soon as
possible. As I have discovered….it can be quite a winding road as you learn your way. But it doesn’t have to be as long and hard as we all seem to make it to be, if you take time in the beginning to figure out what exactly you really want.
Take the time to examine what excites you in life and what you are really interested in. That is the key to success, be it online or off. Now… narrow that thought down to a single word or phrase - yes… your “keyword phrase”, and enter it into a search engine query - your first step in discovering the “demand or request for information” on that word or phrase. Now you’re on your way to success at your work at home venture!
I took a roundabout way to that simple process and learned to start an online
venture with a subject, object or topic that I could be passionate about and actually see myself excited to work with every day. That’s what you need to do.
Don’t choose a subject you are even somewhat bored about just because you think you can make money with it….it’s a mistake. You may make some money from it at first, but as the novelty wears off, so will your profit. That’s the first lesson we all have to be open to if we don’t already realize it.
Most of us have worked at jobs that bore us to death. That’s why we turned to the ‘Net, isn’t it? Take full advantage and dictate your own future…do what you want to do! The internet may be the only venue in your business “life” that you have total control over.
Follow what’s inside you. You’ll be more successful in the short and long term.
You’ll be much happier and your successes will mean more to you. Expect to work to gain success!
Ted Denton has become a successful online marketer and has seen the good andbad along his path to success on the ‘Net. He shares more insights, great articles and free tools for achieving success on his site: True Online Income

If you’re thinking about pinching pennies by selling your ebook without using an ebook security solution, you might want to think again… All it takes is one person who legitimately purchases your ebook and then turns around and shares it with their friends, relatives, and co-workers. They, in turn, share it with their friends, relatives, and co-workers, and so on and so forth. So what is the end result? Literally thousands of pirated, unpaid for copies of your ebook are being circulated around the Internet! Most people don’t even realize that sharing or reselling an ebook that they purchased is illegal and a violation of copyright law!
There are four main ways that people ultimately steal your digital goods:
1. By locating the download link and downloading the ebook without paying.
2. By purchasing the ebook and then sharing it with all their friends, family, and coworkers.
3. By purchasing the ebook, but then demanding a refund even though they keep & continue to use the product.
4. By obtaining a free copy of the ebook from another source, such as a friend, newsgroup, forum, ebay, or wherever it has spread to.
There is no 100% security guarantee in anything, but that’s no reason to totally ignore protecting your hard work. A thief can easily kick in your front door and rob your house, but you still lock the door. Locking the door is not 100% effective security, but we still do it. Why? Because it deters most potential theft and those who are more determined will have to work a bit to get in which in turn tends to just keep some people HONEST. If your information is not free, then it’s obviously of some value. So, how much damage would it do to you if it were made freely available? What type of impact would it have on your sales and could you absorb that without thinking twice?
Is a $24.00 ebook worth paying for another service to protect it? It might be if you figure in your possible projected sales over the long haul. What about a $1,000 report? Does the price change the perspective? I personally don’t believe so.
Businesses protect their property. If you believe your information or software to be of a unique or valuable nature, you should protect that information using some means, no matter how small.
PROTECTION OPTIONS
Here are some common protection methods:
· No Protection: Just distribute your information and hope for the best.
- Pros: No special process to access file, which means less support issues, easy to distribute.
- Cons: File can be passed around, copied, distributed and/or sold without authorization from the owner. Can’t prevent access after charge back or refund.
· General Password Protection: Simply requiring a predetermined password to install or register the file.
- Pros: Simple for customer or end user.
- Cons: File and password can be passed around, copied, distributed and/or sold without authorization from the owner. Can’t prevent access after charge back or refund.
· PC-Unique Password Protection: Generates a unique password based on the user’s computer.
- Pros: Can’t pass around the file since it is basically locked to one machine.
- Cons: Requires an extra step for registration; Customer cannot move file to another PC; If their PC crashes they will need another unique password. Can’t prevent access after charge back or refund.
· Delayed Registration: This requires a user to enter a second registration number a specific number of days after they first register the file. For example, after 30 days of use, they must enter a new registration number that they receive from you.
- Pros: It allows control over charge back and refunds. The file will be disabled after the second registration period because you will not provide the second key to reactivate the file.
- Cons: Requires an extra step for registration; A user can request refund or charge back AFTER the second registration period.
· Post-Purchase Activation: Requires activation by online server. After user purchases they are entered into an online customer database. They then install and register the file by entering their name, email or some data. The server confirms the purchase and then activates the software. This method is become more and more common with digital products.
- Pros: Can prevent unauthorized distribution of file since the online server must activate the file.
- Cons: User must be online to register file; can’t move file to a different PC; can’t prevent access after charge back or refund.
· Active Password Protection: Each time user attempts to access file it checks an online server to confirm the usage rights and permissions for the user.
- Pros: Prevents distribution or copying of file; File Owner can revoke access to file after charge back or refund; Access permissions can be changed and applied in real-time.
- Cons: Must be connected to the net to register and/or access file; User may not be able to move file to another PC; User registration can be somewhat cumbersome and difficult for some customers.
In conclusion there are many ebook compilers out on the market today that allow you to have the book actively registered and allow you full control of disabling the ebook should an issue result that would force you to take that particular kind of action, such as a refund. This type of control would be the preferred method of ebook delivery and these types of compilers also have many other features including:
· Disable right click
· Disable copy and paste
· Disable save file
· Allow complete user statistics
· Ability to view user and have email address through registration
· Allow books to be viewed by potential joint-venture prospects with the ability to disable after they view it
· Many other features depending upon the compiler
Taking all of these benefits into account, it is a wise idea to provide a little insurance on your hard work in hopes of keeping individuals a little more honest.

Writing articles for internet distribution is a popular and effective means of marketing your business. Articles are an excellent way to let others learn about your expertise, while providing valuable information to potential customers and business partners.
Many people aren’t sure what to write about. Either they think they don’t have any expertise, or they don’t think anyone will be interested in what they have to say.
Everyone has information that someone else can appreciate. As a business owner, there are areas of expertise, you can share with those who are not experts. Stop analyzing, listen to your heart, and start brainstorming - you’ll be surprised at the ideas that will flow.
Here are eight ideas to brainstorm when deciding on your article topics.
1. Think about the questions your customers or prospects ask. The same questions being asked is a sign that there is interest in the topic. Although you may think everyone knows the benefits of Vitamin C or filtered water, there are many of us who don’t know.
2. Ask someone who knows you what they think your expertise is. Friends and family see you and your business from a different perspective. For example, if you’re a network marketer and your friends say you listen really well, develop an article around listening skills.
3. What are your favorite and least favorite parts of your business. We all have these as part of our business. Identify the top 4-7 things you love about being a leader, or the 7 challenges someone should know before becoming a team leader.
4. The best resources about your business area or expertise. People searching for information are always looking for the best and most current information available. Knowing sources that can educate your readers about subjects pertaining to your business or products shows that you stay up to date in your field. For example, write about your favorite websites related to your business, product or service. Tell your readers why or what useful information the sites provide.
5. The best things about your product/service. Be generic about this. You imply you are the best when you write about “the five things a buyer should expect from customer service” or “the 7 essential ingredients to look for in a nutritional drink.” Of course, the reader will expect your business to have what ever the bet is that you are writing about.
6. How to improve something related to your niche. Look at your business and things that you may have improved during your time in business and tell a story about it. People are always interested in how challenges are overcome and in success stories.
7. Interview someone who has a skill or information related to your niche. If you know someone who has built a great team or does exciting presentations, for example, you can do a Q&A interview with them about that area of their expertise.
8. Tie current news events into your article. Childhood obesity, as an example, is a major topic in the news and can be tied into a number of different businesses including health and wellness, nutrition or weight loss. Look for ways to tie holidays into your product or service. Greeting card companies are excellent at this.
Once you get the topics out of your head and on to paper, there will be plenty of time later to analyze and get feedback on the value of the topic. Think of topics from your heart - analyze them later from your brain.
You have a lot of valuable information to share. Follow these techniques, before you know it, you’ll have several 600-word articles ready for marketing your business on the internet.

Getting paid to express your opinion? Does it sound odd? Paid surveys can prove you that you can actually be paid to say what you think about products and services. Moreover, you’ll get paid even to complain about a certain product or bad service that you received. It’s never been easier before to get paid for your consumer opinion with paid surveys.
Online marketing has made substantial progress for the past couple of years. Internet transactions and web shopping have grown exponentially. Millions of people spend time online for more than 5 hours per day. Paid survey companies have emerged to connect consumers with the manufacturing and service companies to help these companies improve their products and services. Consumer feedback has become tremendously important, as more and more people are searching for products with unique features that more closely match their individuality. Through online surveys, marketing companies can reach customers fast and easy, and collect meaningful feedback. Paid surveys are a type of incentivized program that rewards consumers for spending time and effort answering questionnaires about their shopping experiences.
Online surveys are readily available through many paid survey sites and online marketing databases. Maybe you have already received email from a friend or seen an online ad with paid survey opportunities. Disregarding these ads is not the best thing you can do, because not all of them are spam. Many ads really lead to sites that do not provide paid surveys, but others are legitimate survey site ads and it’s worth paying attention.
Most legitimate survey sites are relatively easy to recognize for the experienced eye, because they have good web design, easy navigation, and good customer service. If you have questions or concerns, the good survey site will always respond to you promptly and guide you through the process of earning successfully with paid surveys. Most scam sites do not have even functioning contact forms, since they don’t need to invest in quality service — they have none to offer.
Getting paid to complete online surveys is now a favorite activity for hundreds of thousands of Internet users. Starting to earn with paid surveys is easy, and you don’t need either much effort or time. That’s why people from all social backgrounds join survey companies and take surveys for cash, because paid surveys are suitable for everyone — from students and stay-at-home moms, to college professors and IT specialists.

These ten keys are the keys to your success. Follow these and you will create the lifestyle and business of your dreams.
Belief - To have belief in your products or services and your industry is essential. But most of all, it is your belief in yourself that makes all the difference. You will achieve only what you believe in.
Commitment - A commitment is your pledge to do whatever it takes to get the job done - no matter what. When you are committed, you persist. You don’t quit.
Contribution - Always give more than you take. It will build your business strong with integrity and good will, which in turn rewards you with good profits.
Goals - Your goals are your objectives. They provide a direction for your efforts and a way to measure your progress. You must have clearly defined, written goals. It is imperative to your success.

Personal Growth - Most successful business people will tell you that personal growth and development was essential to their success in their business endeavors. Personal growth is a lifelong learning process. Practice it every single day. No matter how
much you think you know, there’s always more.
Take Action - Plan your work, work your plan. You must have a business plan that incorporates SDA’s - Specific Daily Actions. You must put first things first, prioritize and follow through.
Treat It Like A Business - There is no substitute for treating your new endeavor like a business. Regardless of how much it cost you in time or money to get started, you must treat it like a million dollar business each and every day. Even if it’s a part time business, treat it with respect.
Vision - Vision is a mental picture of all the achievements you aspire to and have yet to bring into being. It’s the source of all of your beliefs, expectations, motivations and actions. It’s the key to your future. Design the movie (vision) of your life and watch it unfold.

Most people starting an online home business do so while working a full-time job and therefore being organized will help you make maximum use of the few hours a day that you have to dedicate to your work at home internet
business.
Getting and keeping the contents of your computer organized will save you heaps of time and it is a great idea to set up a good filing system so that you do not waste time looking for web addresses, passwords, files, e-books, emails, images, etc.
If you are starting an online home business that involves joining a few affiliate programs you will have a lot of important information and emails coming in that you will need to refer to. There is nothing more frustrating knowing you have saved a certain file or bookmarked an important web address and not being able to find it.
Firstly, the initial information that you will receive will be in the form of emails and so it is strongly advised that you set up folders in your Outlook so that you can file the emails in the relevant folders. If you join a number of affiliate programs, open a folder for each program.
To setup a new folder in Outlook simply click on FILE in the Menu Bar (the top horizontal menu), in the drop down menu click NEW, then click on FOLDER. A little window will open entitled CREATE FOLDER and you then type in the box entitled FOLDER NAME, the name you would like to give this new folder. Then click OK.
This way you can set up sub-folders too. For example you may have a main folder called XYZ Affiliate Program and you could create subfolders under that for Admin emails and another for Sale Notifications and another for New Signups. In your Outlook main window, select XYZ Affiliate Program, right click and select New Folder and type in the title for your subfolder.
If you make an error or your subfolder appears in the wrong place, do not panic. Just right click on the folder and click delete and try again. Or if you want to rename the folder just right click and choose rename, and enter the correct name.
By setting up folders in Outlook will save you a huge amount of time when you need to locate a certain email and you will find that your Inbox is not full of emails that you have already dealt with or read. There is also the search function in Outlook, should you need it. File the emails in their respective folders as soon as you have dealt with them. Do not forget to file the emails in your Sent Box too into their respective folders. Often it is your reply to an email that you will be looking for.
Your Favorites in Internet Explorer, or whatever browser you are using, is another place that you need to keep well organized as this will save you so much time and frustration.
Again, set up folders and subfolders if necessary. Using Internet Explorer 7 in the Menu Bar, click on Favorites, then choose Organize Favorites from the drop down menu. In the small window that opens click on New Folder and a new folder will be highlighted where you type in the name. You can also move, rename and delete folders here as well. Or you can just select the Star Icon for Favorites so they open down the left hand side of your screen, right click on a folder and choose the option New Folder and type in the name.
By right clicking on a folder and selecting Sort By Name will organize the contents of that folder alphabetically.
Under My Documents be sure to start opening folders there as well to file all the information relating to your work at home internet business, for example your ebook downloads, articles and reviews you may write, Excel spreadsheets, etc.
Another idea is to open a Word document or Excel spreadsheet to keep a note of the affiliate programs you join, their web addresses, referral urls as well as your username and passwords for each program. I personally work with Notepad as I find it opens quicker and I save it to my desktop for easy reference.
A couple of computer protection and maintenance tips: Install good virus protection on your computer and keep your Firewall turned on.
To help keep your computer running well, delete your Temporary Internet Files in Internet Explorer regularly by clicking on Tools, then Internet Options from the drop down menu and under Browsing History select Delete and then under Temporary Internet Files click on Delete. You can also delete your Cookies here too.
Do not forget to use the disk defragmenter regularly (once a week), especially if you are downloading new software or have automatic software updates coming in from Microsoft. Just click your Start button, click on All Programs and select Accessories, then System Tools and Disk Defragmenter. It is advisable to shut down all programs including temporarily disengaging your Screensaver while using the disk defragmenter.
To disengage your screensaver click on Start, Control Panel, Display and in the Display Properties Box click on Screensaver and in the drop down menu under the computer icon select `none` and click Apply. Remember then to go back and reinstate your screensaver once the disk defragmenter has completed its task.
Just a word of warning here, if you do not defrag your hard drive regularly you will experience your computer slowing down and more frustrating is that the defrag process can take hours. If this happens it is advisable to leave the disk defragmenter running overnight while you catch up on some well earned sleep.
You will in time develop your own way of working, but initially when starting an online home business and everything is new and a little confusing you will find it really helpful if you get yourself organized early and get into the habit of filing items where you can find them as well as keeping your computer in peak condition thus avoiding slowdowns and downtime.

Anyone who starts an internet home business
idea has high hopes for success. Many feel that with just a few simple ads the business will boom and take off into a major business. However, many find that customers are actually few and far between when it comes to an internet based business idea. With the following tips you can help to market your internet home business idea and turn it into a success.
1. Brand your name and business. You can easily do this by just writing articles and submitting them to e-zines or web sites for republishing. When people see your home business idea consistently they will become more curious and eventually will click through to your offer.
2. Remember to take a little time out of your day or week to brainstorm. New ideas are usually the difference between business success and failure. The more time you spend online promoting your home business idea the more ideas that you will find. Some you might not be able to take advantage of right away because of time or money. In that case create a swap file, or but the site you find into your favorites so that you can come back to it when you are ready to put that idea into motion.
3. Model yourself after other successful businesses or people. I’m not saying out right copy them, but practice some of the same habits that have made them succeed. One idea is to look up their website in one of the major search engines and find out who they are linking to, or where they are submitting their articles, that should give you some more ieas as to where you could be linking to, or submitting articles yourself.
4. Take risks to improve your business idea’s reach. Sometimes businesses don’t want to advertise unless it’s free, sometimes you have to spend money to get results. Make sure that before you do this, you set a monthly budget and stick to it! It’s common to hear about people overspending unnecessarily and running up huge credit card bills. Maximize your advertising budget and don’t go broke like the big web sites. All you need is a small group of loyal customers to sell back end products.
5. Include emotional words in your advertisements. Use ones like love, security, relief, freedom, happy, satisfaction, fun, etc. The goal is to make your offer sound so great that the person cannot wait to recieve it. But never so great that he or she does not believe your ad, or trust you.
6. Make people feel like it’s their idea to buy, they will be less hesitant. Tell them in your ad “You’re making a smart decision for buying our product”. Tell people what they’re thinking and feeling as they read your ad. Most people will actually do it. Your statements should help sell your product.
7. Out source part of your workload. You’ll save on most employee costs. You could out source your secretarial work, accounting, marketing, etc. If writing is not your area of exptise then get an expert to write your ad copy for you. One good website to go to if you need copy that sells for your home business idea is www.guru.com.

Have you ever wondered, what makes some people successful in their home business endeavor, while others try but fall short of their goals? The ingredients that contribute to success in business, as in life, are complex and multi-faceted. There are however, a few components that are essential in their contribution to the richness and fulfillment that ultimately lead to success. Are they a part of your entrepreneurial life?
Passion Nothing is as attractive or magnetic to others as passion. It is far more powerful and contagious than perfection. The know-how and how-to in your business comes with time, however when your passion is communicated your message is loud, clear, heartfelt and irresistible!
Belief It is enormously important to have a gut-level believe in what you are offering. Belief fuels your passion and is a necessary ingredient for your excitement to be authentic. A lack of belief in several areas can sub-consciously translate to your prospect. Rate your belief from 1 to 10 in these areas: your company, your product or service, the network marketing industry, yourself and others. Work with your mentor to increase your belief, your inner strength and knowingness, and watch your results soar!
Commitment Perhaps the most influential is your level of commitment. When you really commit, when the decision is made, then the universe aligns with your commitment. Your commitment will spur you on to do “whatever it takes”. All manner of events and people will show up to support what you know is inevitable. People are looking for leaders. They will follow someone who is committed, not someone who is just “trying it out”. Who you are being, and where you are going is what prospects will respond to!
Your Why So, why will you commit to a business that will take time and energy in an already busy life? You must get in touch with “your why”. What are the goals, the dream, and the vision, for “your one wild and precious life”? What motivates and excites you? When you face rejection, hit the wall, or want to give up, what will keep you going strong? Get in touch with “your why” and you will be unstoppable!
Sense of Purpose One of the best outcomes of a network marketing business, is that you become successful by helping others be successful. People don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care. Lives are forever changed and enriched by what we are offering. What value, or service are you giving to the world? In this discovery are the seeds that grow true fulfillment. Another benefit, with cultivation “you reap what you sow”!
Personal Development The network marketing business is like a personal growth workshop with a paycheck attached. You will be challenged, stretched, forced “out of the box”, grow, and experience a fundamental shift on the inside. Find a mentor, be coachable, commit to daily growth and development and you will attract success by the person you become. In the words of industry leader Jim Rohn, “If you work hard on your job you can make a living. If you work hard on yourself, you can make a fortune!”
Congratulations! Becoming a part of the home-based business industry is embarking on the journey of a lifetime. It is catching a wave and riding it into uncharted waters, taking you places you never thought possible. At times you must put aside your fears and trust the journey. It will change your very thoughts, dreams and image of yourself. Buy your ticket to freedom, take daily action, connect and commit to the journey and not only will you succeed, you will find deep satisfaction and fulfillment along the way!

I’m a work at home mom (WAHM) and I love it! I can re-arrange my schedule to pick the kids up from school when they are sick or take the dog to the groomers on a Tuesday. I can leave for the weekend or even the week on short notice and with little effort (and still be making money!) I work 12-15 hours a week and my income is growing steadily every month. In a few years (or less) my husband will be able to retire from his job because my income will exceed his. Or better yet, he will join me in my business.
I am a work at home mom who is has a network marketing (mlm) business. I am an independent distributor for an awesome company. It has taken me a while to find the right company and the right fit, but now that I have it is all coming together.
I’ve struggled with working from home on the Internet for years, but now I am really succeeding in my business. And I am not so isolated anymore. I have made the greatest group of friends (from all over the world) who are now my business partners.
One of the best parts of being involved in the right network marketing company is having a support system, from encouraging friends to good company training. And a good MLM company should have an easy duplicatable system that is simple for anyone to learn and succed at.
A network marketing business takes work, don’t let anyone fool you into thinking it doesn’t. It is a real business and it only works if you put effort into it. I tend to be a shy person and a loner, so perhaps it takes me more effort than some, but it’s worth it! I have become a better and happier person because I have stretched myself, and my business has blossomed.
If you are a mom who is looking for a way to earn money at home, be careful. The Internet is full of scams and companies that will only rip you off. Check carefully into any business you enter into. Find a good solid network marketing company that has the best interests of the customers and distributors in mind. Find a company that gives back and doesn’t just take. Find a company that has good solid products that people want and need. If the products are something you can’t find somewhere else, that’s even better. Be sure your company and products are something you can get passionate about and will make the world a better place. Find a company that is a good fit for you.
I found my company, ForeverGreen. I’ve searched for the right company and products for years, and now I know I’ve found it for me. It’s everything I’ve ever wanted in an MLM company, and more. I’m getting healthier and making good money, while helping others get healthier and make good money. Check it out– maybe it will be the right fit for you, too.
