How to Find Paid Surveys to Take on the Internet

Monday 25 June 2007 @ 4:06 pm

by jorchav
Market researchers use consumer opinion surveys to test the marketplace and measure consumer preferences. It is a big business with hundreds of millions of dollars being spent on surveys and related activities every year.

Information provided by surveys is vitally important, not only to plan new products but also to decide on how to best spend more than $200 billion in annual budgets for advertising and promotion.

More and more of these surveys are being made over the Internet. Thousands of surveys are being taken each week, and many thousands of survey takers, consumers like you and me, are receiving checks in the mail for participating in some of these surveys. The key to making money is to find paid surveys to take on the Internet.

Most survey makers try to use promotional razz-ma-tazz to get survey takers to participate, and avoid paying out anything. But there are many who simplify things and go directly to the point.

They compensate the survey participants directly for their participation in each survey. This compensation can be in cash, in points that can be converted into cash, or in free products given out in exchange for your opinion of them.

So how do you find the paid surveys to take on the Internet?

The problem is that there are over 700 survey makers in the U.S. alone, over 3,000 worldwide. Most are not worth dealing with. It will cost you to sort out the good ones.

There are basically two ways you can approach the problem. You can use search engines and “free survey” sites or you can use paid survey sites.

The “free survey” sites are usually being paid by the survey makers to recruit people like you. Those who pay the recruiters either have less left to pay the survey takers or don’t pay at all. So you are paying a portion of your future survey fees to be recruited.

Still, you can go this route, sign up with every survey maker you can find, then sort them out afterward.

Remember that real survey makers don’t need your credit card number or fees to send surveys. Never give a “survey maker” your credit card number or a payment to send you surveys. If they ask you many questions about your personal preferences for individual products, look out! Sales companies ask that, survey makers do not.

There are 200 or so paid survey sites that maintain lists of preferred survey makers; which is good and which is not. They provide guide services to their clients. For a small one-time fee you can join up and get a copy of their current list.

Since you are paying them to help you make money, their incentive is to direct you to the survey makers that pay.

To pick a good paid survey site, look at their guarantee and their refund rate. Look for a strong 60-90 day money-back guarantee, backed up by a bank or financial company such as PayPal or ClickBank.

The refund rate is the strongest indicator of paid survey site performance. A low refund rate means many happy clients. A high refund rate means that many unhappy clients demanded their money back! Look for a low (3-6%) refund rate. Avoid any with refund rates that are unknown or with refund rates of 9.0% or higher.

When you find the paid surveys to take on the internet, how much money can you make?

That depends on your diligence, your demographics and on the number and quality of survey makers that have your application on file. If you sign up with 700 to sort out, you will find that 98% of your money will come from just 150 to 300 of these.

If you go through a paid survey site, you will need to sign up for all of their preferred survey and related sites. These will typically number around 150 to 300.

Once you have done that, you should get optimal results. Most more or less serious survey takers report incomes of $200 to $600 a month. Many report incomes of $1,000 a month or more. Exact numbers will depend on your individual situation, but they should be within these ranges.

Work From Home And Become A Successful Entrepreneur By Exploiting Niche Markets

Monday 25 June 2007 @ 2:06 pm

by Steve Berry
It’s true that publishing niche ebooks is a proven business that can make you a lot of money but finding niches to exploit can be both time consuming and disheartening. In fact trying to find niche markets for info products can be an absolute nightmare if you don’t know how and where to look.

But thankfully there’s hope. Carefully read this article and take notes as I’m going to show you a simple strategy that anyone can use for finding as many niche markets to sell ebooks to as you could want. It really is quite easy to do.

OK let’s get started. The link below is an amazing resource that won’t cost you a penny to sign up to.

http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com

Just go to this site and start typing in any niche markets that interest you. Start with a subject you are interested in as it will make this exercise more enjoyable and once you get the hang of it you can then branch out into other fields.

So if you had an interest in dogs you’d type in “dogs”. Then all you need to do is make a list of all of the sub niches within the general niche market of dogs, e.g. breeds, training, etc. These are all potential niches for you to exploit.

www.dummies.com

Another fantastic research tool for the niche ebook publisher where you can find a ton of niche topics is across all of the “…For Dummies” books. This company has made creating niche products an art form. Just search through their titles in any niches that interest you and jot down potential ebook topics.

www.amazon.com

Giant Amazon is another great resource for finding niche markets that you’d never have thought about entering. Go the web site and use the search bar. For example, select “books” then type in a niche you’d like to create a product around. Let’s say “gardening”. Go through the results and start jotting down all of the niche markets that jump out at you.

Like a lot of people you may immediately think “wait a sec how can I compete with Amazon?”. Of course you won’t be as you’ll be catering for a different market. As ebook publishers we can offer our customers our info products straight away as a download. When people buy from Amazon they have to wait days for a book to arrive.

Also another great thing about downloadable info products is bizarrely they are seen to have a higher perceived value. Whereas you might be able to charge fifteen dollars for a book selling it via Amazon, if you sell a downloadable info product you can charge up to fifty dollars. Crazy I know but true.

www.goarticles.com

I think article directories are probably the best way to find subjects to create ebooks around. The directory “Go Articles” is just one of many. Go to the site, type in a niche subject in the search bar and get literally thousands and thousands of ebook ideas.

As I said at the beginning of this article and which applies to any research you do — take notes! So when visiting these sites just make a huge list of potential topics (use Word, Notepad or an A4 sheet of paper) and then when you’re done go to freekeywords.wordtracker.com and type in your topics. This will tell you if there are people searching for information on the subject.

Choose those with at least five thousand a month and you’ve just found an ebook topic that could turn into a very lucrative home based business.

Look we’re not aiming to become an overnight millionaire here, which a lot of marketers will have you believe is easy. What you need to do is to build a network of mini sites that each makes about 1K a month. Being able to come up with an endless amount of niche product ideas is the key here and I’ve already shown you how. Then all you need to do is create the product.

I’ve been in your shoes and I know what you’re thinking. I said “All you need to do is create the product” and you’re saying, “They’re hard to create” right? Well no they’re not. Actually you don’t need to write a single sentence of your ebook. If you go to elance.com you can hire people to do it for you. For around five hundred to seven hundred bucks freelance writers will create the entire book for you.

Your aim here is to have one product created, set up pay per click campaigns, write a press release and blast a few articles over the net on the topic of your ebook. Then have another one created, do the same, and just rinse and repeat. Yes you can do this.

I want to quickly dispel a myth about the internet. If you believe what many seem to think and that is you can just throw up a site, sit back and become rich then you will be very disappointed. I’m just being honest with you here but done properly ebook publishing can change your financial situation dramatically.

The secret of wealthy entrepreneurs from around the globe is that they have multiple streams of income on autopilot. Anyone can now set up streams of income that sends lots of money into their bank account even whilst they sleep. This is all thanks to ebooks and the internet.

Paid Internet Surveys - How to Earn Money Taking Free Online Surveys

Monday 25 June 2007 @ 10:06 am

by jorchav
Ever been asked to participate in a survey? If you surf the Internet, sooner or later you’ll get asked. Probably, at least for the first few times, you actually answered the questions for one survey or another.

Opinion surveys are a vital tool used by market researchers to get information about consumer preferences. And big companies spend hundreds of millions of dollars every year on market research. One result is that there are thousands of surveys, free of cost to the participants, being taken every week.

To get enough volunteers for these surveys, part of the market research budget goes to getting volunteers to participate. Sometimes the money goes directly to the survey participants in the form of cash payment for completing survey questionnaires.

To earn money taking these free online surveys, you need to make an application to the survey makers who pay in cash. They will need your name, e-mail address and demographic data (age, gender, zip code, etc.). There are two to three hundred of these survey makers that will be worthwhile to apply to.

The problem is that there are over 3,000 survey makers worldwide and over 700 in the U.S. alone. Most of these do not actually pay in cash or points that can be redeemed for cash. Some are really sales companies in disguise that only want to sell you things.

So how do you sort them out? There are basically two ways to sort them out: the slow free way and the faster paid way.

The slow, free way. Just run a search on the Internet for “paid surveys”, “paid online surveys” or “free paid surveys” and start applying to all you encounter. They you try them out and discard those that do not actually pay in cash. This will take some time, but it can be done.

There are websites advertising free lists of survey makers. Most of those on these lists are there because they pay the website owners a finders fee or referral fee for finding you. This money goes to the webmaster of the referring site and not to you.

The faster, paid way. There are over 200 paid survey sites (guide companies) that keep track of which survey makers are reliable, pay as agreed, pay in cash and respect your privacy (means they do not sell your data to sales companies who then fill up your in-box with advertisements).

For a small one-time fee ($25 - $50) they will give you a current copy of their list of preferred survey makers and you just apply only to those. This saves you time and work, lets you use your time more effectively. The bottom line is that you get less hassle and more checks in the mail, faster.

It is very important to pick a good guide company. You want one with a strong 60 - 90 day money-back guarantee, backed up by a bank or financial company, and a low refund rate (3% to 6% is ideal). Avoid any with soft guarantees or with refund rates that are either unknown or higher than 9% (9% means that 1 client in every 11 asked for his money back!)

With reasonable demographics and diligence, and your application on file with 200 or so good survey makers, you should be able to easily bring in $200 to $600 a month from paid surveys and related activities. If you work at it a bit you can usually bring in $1,000 a month or more.

Paid Online Surveys - How to Increase Your Income With Focus Groups

Monday 25 June 2007 @ 10:06 am

by jorchav
You can make good money simply by taking paid online surveys. However, you can add to your income with other related activities, such as focus groups. Focus groups are less common and participation takes more time. But they pay well, much better than most surveys.

While an average online survey might bring in $10 to $25, an average focus group participation will pay $50 to up to $250.

With focus groups, a group of participants discuss subjects under the leadership of a moderator who poses the questions. Participants talk with each other as well as with the moderator. The group develops discussion threads with one building on what another has said.

In this way they often uncover and discuss new aspects of the market need, product or service under discussion. This includes aspects that might not have occurred to the market researchers to bring up and ask questions about.

When market researchers ask questions in surveys, there are always implicit assumptions in the questions. The open format of focus groups permits consumer participants to discuss things in a freeform manner.

This can give useful insights. Oftentimes there is relevant consumer thinking that is found to be outside of the framework of the market researchers assumptions!

Thus valuable insights are gained, which makes focus groups very worthwhile to understanding what thinking and forces drive the marketplace.

Focus groupa are conducted both in online conferencing mode and in person. For online conference format it is only necessary to get all participants online at the same time. For those focus groups done in person, you have to be physically present. Usually these will be conducted in a series of cities in heavily-populated areas.

Your ability to participate in focus groups conducted in person will be dependent on how convenient it is for you to get to one of the cities near you where they are being conducted.

Usually the survey makers pick people to invite to participate in focus groups out of their databank of good survey takers. They may ask you to take a short pre-qualifying survey beforehand to determine if you qualify for the focus group.

For example, if they are going to focus on green olives they only want participants who like and eat green olives, not those who don’t like them and avoid them! If the focus is to be on whiskey, they want no teetotalers in the group!

If you are taking paid surveys and get asked about participating in focus groups, consider it an opportunity to make extra money. Volunteer if you can, take an active part in the discussion. Try to inject useful ideas and observations.

When you make useful contributions to the focus group’s subject matter, you greatly increase your chances of being invited again and again, and making more money from participating in more focus groups!

Paid Internet Survey — Earn Mmoney Taking Online Surveys Free of Charge

Monday 25 June 2007 @ 9:06 am

by jorchav
Ever fill out a survey questionnaire? Most of us have at one time or another. Actually, it’s big business on the Internet. Traditional consumer opinion surveys, vital tools of market research, have taken to the Internet like ducks to water! There are thousands of surveys being made every week.

The interesting part is, in order to get enough volunteers to take these surveys, the survey makers are paying participants cash for filling them out. The surveys are completely free of charge to take. Filling out the questionnaires is easy and can result in a check in the mail to each participant!

Taking 15 minutes to fill out a survey questionnaire for $20 is no big deal, but the money is in the volume. If you took two 15 minute surveys a day for a month, you would have spent 7-8 hours of time and potentially gained $1,200 for your efforts.

So how do you position yourself to get invited to participate in paid surveys?

You have to make applications to survey makers, giving them your name, contact info and demographic data (age, occupation, gender, education, etc.) Then the survey makers put your info in their data bases and when they have a survey for which you qualify, they send you an e-mail inviting you to participate.

The problem is that there are over 700 survey makers in the U.S. alone, and over 3,000 worldwide. That’s a lot of applications.

The best way to go about it is to hire a paid survey guide company to get you started off right. These outfits maintain lists of survey makers, keeping track of who is good to deal with and who is not. Actually, most of the so-called survey makers are flakes; time-wasters to be avoided. Only about 30% or so are worth applying to.

What the guide companies do is, for a small one-time fee, let you have a copy of their list or preferred survey makers. That way you know which is which and only need to sign up with the good ones, the ones that pay in cash (most don’t!) and pay ontime. The serious ones who won’t sell your demo data to sales companies!

There are over 200 of these paid survey guide companies out there, some good, others not so good. To pick a good one, look for a strong money-back guarantee, backed up by a bank or financial company. Look for a low (3-6%) refund rate. Avoid any with a refund rate that is unknown or over 9.0%.

The refund rate is an inverse confidence vote of all the clients of that company who have gone before you. If they were happy and satisfied, the refund rate will be low. If they were unhappy with the service the refund rate will be high. The unhappier they are, the higher the refund demand rate will be!

So how much can you make doing this?

It depends on your diligence, your demographics and the number of good survey makers that you sign up with. Most more or less serious survey takers report monthly incomes of between $200 and $600. Many report monthly incomes of $1,000 or more.

Home Based Business Basics

Monday 25 June 2007 @ 9:06 am

by Jim Biscardi -
Many people are striking out today to begin their own home based business. With the advent of the Internet and e-mail, one could get the impression that the only way to run a home based business is by the Internet.

What if you want to run your own home based business in a more traditional manner? Where should you begin? The easy part is actually to begin your home based business. The hard part comes when you must decide which home based business you should be in. You must screen each business opportunity with objectivity and patience. You must also be methodical and realistic in your selection of a home based business that suits you.

One of the very first steps you should take when considering a home based business is to take a personal inventory. You must take note of your skills, personality characteristics, experience and interests. When taking into consideration your personality characteristics, you should answer these questions: What is your personal background, what kind of training and education have you had, what kind of special interests and hobbies do you have, and what kind of work and volunteer experience have you had? These are just a few of the questions that you must ask yourself when you are thinking about starting your own home based business.

The second step you must take is to identify what you like. You may know about a lot of different things, but you must ask yourself what you are really good at. You should make a list of everything you like doing and then with a lot of insight cross off the things in which you have no interest or you just do not like to do. It just may be your luck to like what you are good at. That will give you a good clue for your home based business.

If you have come up with a suitable home based business, then perhaps it would be well to review the following different subject areas to see if your interest lies in any of these. You may take into consideration such things as: Crafts, household services, health and fitness, professional and personal services, wholesale and retail sales, computers and business services.

The next thing you want to do in trying to ascertain which home based business is for you is to go down the list of your skills and interests and see which ideas may be marketable as a home based business. In order for your home based business to be successful it must be unique, must create or satisfy a need in the market and must have longevity. You must also be able to price profitably yet competitively. Your home based business must also suit your lifestyle. If you have been a stay-at-home mom and are looking to start a home based business, you naturally are not going to want something that is going to take you away from home for long periods of time or something that you would have your clients coming to the house for.

Whatever home based business you decide to go into, it will take a lot of forethought and preparation on your part. Remember that people are succeeding at home based businesses each day, and you could very well add to the rank and file of those who are successful!

Fun Pointers For A Home Party Business

Monday 25 June 2007 @ 9:06 am

by Dustin H Cannon -
A Home Party Business is a growing trend among business owners. Home parties are an intimate and fun way to showcase product and build lasting business relationships. A home party business can be run a variety of ways, but a few helpful pointers can make any home party business more successful and fun for both hostess and guests. These pointers, when combined with your business strategy for success, can take a lot of the leg work out of your parties and replenish your energy for the fun you can have with your guests.

The first fun pointer for a home party business is the client list. When you decide to go into a home party business, make a list of everyone you know. Don’t stop until you have listed at least a hundred people. Thinks of your hairdresser, your children’s teachers, doctors, family friends, friends of friends, and so on until your list is overflowing with people you know. Most people underestimate their reach, failing to realize they know as many people as they truly do. Now, take a moment to consider that each person on your list can make a list of his or her own. Each of those people could make a list, too. Yesterday you were worried about how you would get enough people to your parties, and today you can’t throw enough parties to invite all of the people you know. When your home party business suffers a slower month with fewer bookings, as any businesses will, refer to this list to brainstorm guests to fill your party quota.

The second fun pointer for any home party business owner is to simplify menus. Food brings people together, and the menu of a party can set the tone for the success of a party from a very early moment. Food is the first object of attention for early party guests, and can provide a backdrop for conversation and ice breakers. Consider easy dips and finger foods to entice guests towards product tables. Keep an assortment of shredded cheeses and cream cheese on hand for quick dips to serve at last minute parties. Adding cheese to cream cheese, sour cream, and some canned crab meat can make for an elegant dip. Veggies and cheese cubes add a dash of color to any snack table, while also providing a healthy alternative for dieting guests. At the start of each month, brainstorm three different combinations of appetizers, and let these lists guide you for your parties. With these preconceived menus in place, you won’t have to worry about what to serve last minute, and can keep ingredients on hand.

The final and most important fun pointer for your home party business is to remember the thank you card and follow up correspondence. Make this correspondence memorable by creating your own unique stationary or cards with simple items such as construction paper or magazine pictures. These homemade cards and letters will set you apart from your competition and will earn you a place in the forefront of your guests’ minds.

A home party business is geared towards fun — for guests and for you! With a little organization and planning, you can have as much fun as your guests and really put the party back in your home party business!

Are There Really Any Easy Home Based Business Opportunities?

Monday 25 June 2007 @ 9:06 am

by Dustin H Cannon -
Do you want to make money while working out of your residence? If so, you might be tempted to apply to some of the email advertisements for “simple” home businesses. However, it’s likely that a critical part of you often wonders, “Are there really any EASY home based business opportunities?”

The answer is both yes and no, depending upon what your definition of “easy” is.

If by “easy” home based business opportunities, you’re focusing on companies that do not require any previous education, there are many different types of this nature. For instance, numerous MLM enterprises can be accomplished by entrepreneurs with no postsecondary credentials. This means that even without a degree, you can become a successful work-at-home business professional.

However, if by “easy” home based business opportunities, you’re looking for something that will require no work and will still garner high profits, you’re unlikely to find such an enterprise. But this is actually a good thing! After all, if money were so easy to get, home based businesses wouldn’t be a fun challenge for so many owners, nor would the potential for income be so deliciously high.

Similarly, if you think that “easy” means something that can really and truly be done at your residence (rather than somewhere else), you are in luck. Plenty of easy home based business opportunities can be completed 100% from the comfort of your living room, office, or even bedroom. They are structured to be delivered via the Internet, giving you the freedom to be an at-home parent without having to go to an offsite job every day. (They are also a boon for those people who cannot physically leave their dwellings for whatever reason.)

But if you want something that’s so “easy” that you won’t have to spend any time learning the ropes of the organization, then you’re in for a shock. Most home businesses work best when owners take an interest in them and educate themselves in the products, services, market, and economic factors.

Yet even the most involved home based business that requires hours of time per week could be considered “easy” if you love what you do… which should be a criteria for choosing a home based company in the first place. If you have passion for what you’re trying to sell, whether it be a product or service, you’ll have a better chance of feeling that you’ve “lucked out” and landed the easy home based business opportunity of the year!

Remember… “easy” is in the eye of the beholder. So — what does it mean for you, and are you willing to take advantage of the many truly easy home based business opportunities available to investors like yourself?
