if someone REALLY knew a magical way to get rich quick,dont you think everyone would be doing it?in your heart,you know there’s no such thing as ‘getting rich quick’…but that doesnt mean you cant get rich.

ive recently graduated as an aircraft engineer..earning about RM 4k to RM 5k.

Well that’s an easy one!

Until you know what you want to gain from your MLM business, why you’re doing it and what you’re willing to give up to make it happen, then you ain’t goin’ nowhere!

There’s incredible power in a goal that you can truly embrace! It will take you over and drive you on. You’ll never have to look for motivation again…it will always be there.

Forget those dream boards and all that hoopla. Maybe they work but I think they end up just being transitory…frivolous stuff you think you want and put on the fridge to keep your sponsor happy.

Your real “why” that will truly motivate you isn’t just an exciting or exotic goal, something it would be “nice to have or to achieve”. Oh, no! To truly be an effective motivator your goal has to be gut-level-the total essence of your being. Your soul must demand that you have it. You know it’s there but it’s been hiding from you. Often because you don’t truly believe you can have it.

You see, once you know what you really truly want, everything is possible!

Stumbling blocks become stepping stones. You work, you fail, you re-design and you move forward again. Don’t waste your effort on somebody else’s goal. Make sure it’s truly something that “you” want…totally without reservation.

Say my wife would like the big new house, but I’d really prefer the freedom that would come from having the income generated from investing the money or maybe a boat. She convinces me that the house would be great and I begin to work toward this goal. Pretty soon an obstacle arises and I give up.

Why did I give up?

That’s easy! It wasn’t my goal. I didn’t really care about a new house and my wife doesn’t really care about the boat I want. Goals are totally personal.

Often the goal is quite small; something that is meaningless to others but incredibly important to you. I remember a time when all I wanted was an extra $500 dollars a month so I could quit my second job which I hated. Doesn’t sound like much but it was enough to get me started and keep me in the game.

Once I knew exactly what I wanted it was easy to put together a plan to get it.

I knew what I wanted, why I wanted it and what I was willing to give up to get it.

The main difference is customers. Do you want to deal with them?

Option 1: Affiliate

You don’t have to worry about any problems related to customers. You keep the commission, and all you have to worry about is how to spend it.
Since, not dealing with customers frees up a lot of time, you could later find another market for other affiliate products/services.

Option 2: Drop Shipping

If there’s a problem with the product, you are the one they are going to call. That’s a drawback, that could seriously take up a lot of your time.
But, here’s a great advantage to Drop Shipping. You get the customer base. You get a list (if you are smart enough to assemble it) of prospects and customers.
This is a list of people with a common interest and you could easily contact them later (again, if you have the skills) with related products OR even affiliate products.
This is a great advantage, to Drop Shipping.

So, the question is. Do you feel that you are better finding markets for products? Then you go Affiliate..

If you feel customer service is you strong spot, and you feel passionate about the market/products? Then you go Drop Shipping

Say you are trying to build volume in a smaller target market instead of a mass affiliate program, and many of the individual products are not yet using affiliates, would it be a good idea to do half and half?

And for those who not yet offer affiliate and drop shipping, what’s a good way to approach it?

In this situation you are after a tight niche market. That’s good. Also, this market could need/want/demand several different kinds of ONE-product retailers; where most of them are not really adapted to the internet.

First…

You should research your market.
If you have a good product, you should research the market.

Second…

Since the regular-retailers don’t seem to be up to speed, it becomes a little bit tricky. (It could be that the reason is that the retailers know that there is NO online market, OR it is a huge opportunity for you).

Here’s the trick. (you seem to be somewhat interested in the market) Develop an informational product related to the topic. Don’t sell it. Give it away, in exchange for their email adress. The info product could be an E-book, Audio, Special Report, Interview, a link collection, assembled articles.

This does 2 things, you get a way to contact them, and you build up credibility.

If you got credibility, you can affiliate, drop-ship, retail… whatever.

Third..

Next you need to get products to the customer. You persuade someone to create an affiliate program, or even drop-shipping…. But it won’t be worth the trouble, if they don’t understand.

So, what you can do.. Is to go to the company, and tell them you have x amount of people that might be interested in the product.

…Would they be interested in giving a x amount of commission (affiliate) to you, if you refer them to the store, through a specific campaign.

…Would they be interested in giving a x amount of discount(drop-ship) to you, if you order, and they were willing to ship it out separately to the customer, through a specific campaign.

I can’t believe it. I’ve talked to many, many people who are afraid to make a decision to go into network marketing. They’ve heard stories and rumors. Instead of investigating and coming to their own conclusions, they believe all of what they hear. They rather work two or three jobs and never see their kids or their spouse than to do a little digging, a little research and find out the truth about network marketing-the thing that could change their financial destiny and allow them to live their dreams. Here are the top myths that stifle people’s dreams.

1.They’re all pyramid schemes.

A pyramid scheme is just a money game. There’s no real product or service. You make money basically by signing up people–which is illegal. A legitimate company supplies a real viable product or service to the marketplace.

2.Only those that get in early make money.

I don’t see how this makes any logical sense. If a company is legitimate, then it shouldn’t matter when you get in, because you can still make money. However, if a company only exists to scam as many people as possible before going out of business, then I could see this myth making sense in that regard.

3.You must go door to door peddling products.

Back in the early Amway days, before computers and the technology we have today, the only way to sell products was door to door. Remember Avon, Kirby vacuum cleaners and the Fuller Brush man? In the technology age, door to door selling becomes a thing of the past, unless you want to work harder and not smarter.

4.You have to recruit your friends.

When network marketing (mlm) first started, recruiting friends into your opportunity was the norm due to convenience. It didn’t take much effort or any marketing skill to do so. The result sometimes ended in massive failures and estranged friendships. There are people who still solely teach this marketing method. In this day and age, it’s not a necessity to resort to this technique, because many people all over the world want to work from home and actively seek opportunities to do so. Those are the ones you want to seek out for your business.

5.You have to buy a lot of product.

Some companies’ compensation plans do require a lot of stocking or front loading of products in order to earn your full commissions. Keep in mind that this type of compensation plan is designed for people who are good at retailing a lot of products. You usually make higher commissions in this type of plan. There are many companies out there that do not have such heavy requirements. Read the policies and procedures and the compensation plan before you join a company.

6.There are a lot of “fly by night” companies.

Companies go out of business for various reasons. That’s why it’s important to choose a company that is at least two years old. It reduces your risk of it going under with your time, effort and money invested in it.

7.You have to be outgoing or the “salesman” type to make money.

So many people nowadays are turned of by the “salesman” type of approach. People respond better to people who are sincere, real, and friendly.

8.You have to invest a large amount of money to get started.

Many companies exist where you can get started on a shoestring budget. Network Marketing has all the benefits of having a franchise, but without all the hassles of having employees and high overhead costs. Network marketing is a cost effective way to start a business.

9.You have to recruit your family.

In the early days of network marketing and even now, some people think that they’ve got to get their family into their business and on their products and services. They feel their family has an obligation to be involved in some aspect of their business. That’s how they show support-right? Wrong.

This type of thinking and marketing “technique” can be counterproductive. A lot of times when people approach their family about their opportunity or product they get “shot” down by them. I can’t believe you’re selling that! Or I can’t believe you fell for that! After hearing the negative comments over and over again, you begin to think that there’s something wrong with the product, the company, network marketing or even you. Recruiting your family can be the worse thing to do, especially when there are more qualified people looking for an opportunity or your product.

10.They’re all get rich quick schemes.

Network marketing can make you wealthy in a shorter amount of time, than working a job. That is for sure. So, yes, you can acquire wealth in a short amount of time with a legitimate company, however it is not overnight and can take a few years depending on your desire, learning curve and marketing budget.

Do your research until you’re satisfied with the results. Knowledge is potential power, but taking action will get you the results that you want. By learning the truth about network marketing, you can now go on and achieve the wealth and lifestyle you’ve always dreamed of.

You finally got a beautiful website. You’re in business now-or so you think. But there is a problem. No one is buying anything; worse yet, no one is even going to your website! What’s missing is an effective marketing plan.

This will help you combat your attrition (drop-out) rate.

It ceases to amaze me when I frequent the work at home forums and watch people who post, look at my pretty website, it took me ten months to do it. How do I get people there? They’ve spent all this time making their site gorgeous, and did not spend one iota on learning how to drive traffic to their site.

In the case of network marketing, you can point the figure at companies giving people tools i.e. websites and not showing them how to bring traffic to it. In this case however, the average Joe Blow just never picked up a business 101 book and read the chapter on marketing. Frustration sets in because they spent all this time making a lovely website and paying their hosting fees and now they have to go back and learn what they should’ve learned before they built their website. Live and learn of course.

Understanding and applying Internet marketing doesn’t have to be hard or complicated especially if you have a system or tool to help you learn it. In the case of network marketing, the learning curve can be quite short because you are working within people’s comfort zone (usually) and not forcing them to do things they do not feel comfortable doing as in the case of calling lots of strangers from lead lists.

If you want long term success in your home business, you have to be both a leader and a teacher. Learn all the ways to market your business and find a system to help you do so. In the network marketing case, your downline will stick around longer. They will think twice about leaving when you’ve showed them many ways to be profitable. You will become invaluable as an upline to them. You will change the course of your business forever by just learning a few marketing techniques and passing them on to your future business builders. Let’s look at that!

In a business or a corporation there’s the owner or the President. The owner is there for life or until they sell their business, so you ain’t getting that job unless you buy them out. And typically the President is in office for a long time too…often as much as 25 years or more. It generally doesn’t matter how much talent you have, if the President has enough pull with the board you can’t have his job either.

And the VP’s tend to have just as much longevity too. They’re hanging around waiting for the Pres. to either retire or croak. I bet there’s lots of VP’s go to bed at night hoping for a Presidential heart attack to sweep them into power in the morning.

So let’s do the math: in a company of say 60,000 employees there’s one President who stays in power for 10 or 20 years…not very good odds, huh?

So in despair you decide to start your own business. If you have a million bucks you can start a McDonald’s…but how boring is that. You’ve just traded a million bucks and a job with a salary, for a 24/7 noose around your neck and no real guarantee of success other than the history of the franchise to generate income. The buck stops with you and you’re motivated to not lose your investment-most of which is owed to the bank anyhow.

Or you start something smaller with a more affordable investment…maybe $50,000 to $100,000. Statistics point to the fact that 90% of startup business fail within 5 years…half of them in the first year; mostly because of lack of money, knowledge, discipline or motivation. You blow your investment. Not a great statistic.

Which brings us to MLM!

You come in and you generally invest something in the order of a couple of hundred to maybe two thousand dollars. Typically you have no experience in business, no experience at working for yourself, no experience at working with people and no idea of what to do.

If your company or sponsor has a strong training program you have a chance. But usually they tell you to make a list of family and friends and invite them to a meeting.

You’re too impatient to wait for your sponsor, you drive over and invite them, they put you down, you hate the rejection and that’s it for you!

Game over before you get started!

How much time do you think the average MLMer puts into their business?

Answer: Not very much…in fact maybe 2 hours a month and most of that spent going to a seminar their sponsor drags them to.

How much money do you think the average MLMer makes from their business?

Same Answer: Not very much!

In fact it’s probably mostly zero or negative. Lots of MLMers hang on to doing their qualifying volume, because they haven’t totally given up on their dream…they want to keep it alive…it’s a little ray of hope on an otherwise dark horizon and while they grumble at the cost they don’t want to totally let go.

Sound familiar?

How much time do you think the big earning MLMer puts into their business?

Answer: Lots and lots of 12 hour days.

And how much do they make? Lots and lots…sometimes millions of dollars a year.

Are they making all this money on the backs of all those struggling small distributors? Not at all! The small distributor isn’t struggling…they generally aren’t doing anything.

How much time do you think the average realtor puts into their business?

For those making the big bucks it’s often 12 to 16 hour days and usually 7 days a week.

But they all make big bucks…right?

Wrong!!!

Let’s look at the Realtor profession for a moment:

In California there were over 500,000 registered realtors in 2006 and they sold around 40,000 properties total in June 2007. (This is a moving target so don’t hold me to those figures but they’re in the ballpark). The average property value was $480,000. So that’s $19.2 billion in total dollar sales in June. That’s $38,400 per realtor on which let’s say they make 5% or $1920 per month each. But that’s just the average…some make more and some less.

The 2006 stats for realtors were these:

Of all the realtors registered in California, the average income was $40,000 for the year. And of those 500,000 realtors, 50% of them, that’s 250,000, earned less than $15,000 in 2006.

Now some of them were stay at home mum’s or retired people who kept their licenses alive but didn’t make any sales at all, and a handful of others earned over $1 million for the year…but still a pretty tough racket.

The realtors who make the big bucks work very hard, very long hours and they deserve the rewards. But lots and lots of realtors barely get by…particularly in falling markets.

Looks a lot like MLM doesn’t it? Those who work make the big bucks!

After you have a good website, you have to focus on how you are going to advertise your business. Make sure that you are finding lots of places to market your website, because remember that it isn’t going to promote itself. You have to put the time into getting your name out there, but it is worth it because after you have done so, you’ll find that the business continues to grow. It can be something that is really exasperating, but in the end, it can end up making you the proudest business owner who really knows how to get the business going. If you are confident, then you can move your business online, and you will see great success.
