Conventional Wisdom says email Business to Business on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday and Business to Consumers on Friday. That sentence could very well comprise this entire article on home business product promotions. However, it would be short changing you, my revered readers.

Swimming against the tide of Conventional Wisdom is what we do as home business owners. It is in our blood, it is our nature! If we went with conventional wisdom, we would be stuck in a drab cubicle, deep within the bowels of a leviathan organization as anonymous cogs in a wheel, taking orders from a bozo boss and putting up with idiotic co workers. But we do not do that! I applaud all you casual wear CEOs for your decision, determination and fortitude as you pursue profits in your home business endeavors.

The hard truth about the best day to email home business promotions is that there is no definitive answer. There are just too many variables to factor into the BEST DAY TO SEND equation. This is a question you have to answer for yourself. However, I do have some insight on the subject for you. So, let us start swimming!

There are two overriding concerns: Open rates and Click thrus. Generally with a product promotion you will be after Click thrus. That will be the focus of this article. (An article about the best day to send newsletters for the highest Open rates can be found at the Big Bucks Blog, address below.)

The most comprehensive study I have found on the subject took place over a 12 month period. It involved 2,000 organizations of all kinds, tracked 160,000 campaigns and 800,000,000 emails! The results were interesting, surprising and unfortunately, inconclusive.

When you are after Click thrus with your home business product promotions, here are the best days to mail. Sunday is the best day when you mail in January, February, March, June, July, August or November. Monday is the best day when you mail in May or September. Saturday is the best day when you mail in April, October or December.

These are not hard and fast rules to determine when you mail your home business campaigns. They are guidelines. At least you now have a point of reference. The best thing to do is to test your list against these guidelines. After all, no one has the same list with the same offer.

Having Fun Building Your Network Marketing Business!

Well, I know the last few articles/entries I have posted here on the blog have been lengthy and serious, so today I want to lighten things up a bit and keep it short

Now, building a network marketing business is serious and needs to be approached from a professional business mindset, BUT that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy it and have fun doing it!

Let’s face it:

If you don’t enjoy what you do on a daily basis, then you probably need to change careers or find a better, more enjoyable way to build your network marketing business.

The reality is that most people spend most of their time trying to FIND good prospects, and therefore only have small bursts of time with someone who is actually interested. They spend most of their working time stressing to find people who will listen to their pitch.

This creates frustration because they know if they don’t find enough people who will listen, then they won’t have enough people who will sign up; which in turn, means they won’t be able to make the money they need and want to make if this doesn’t happen.

What this does is make the prospecting and sales process a stressful event that may not be fun unless that prospect does actually sign up. If they don’t, you look back and realize all the time you spend trying to get in front of them or present to them as a waste of your time (and rightly so).

This type of frustration is what can lead to distributor burn-out and drop-out, and nobody likes that.

Solution:

First of all, if you are not enjoying the process, your results are not up to par AND your prospects can sense your stress and urgency to sign them up.

So, RELAX!!

There are plenty of fish in the sea (with more being thrown in all the time), and there is no need to create this false sense of urgency to the prospect. The prospect will get involved in their own time, not yours. If you try to force it, they will either shut you down right there OR they will get buyers remorse and drop out a few months or even weeks later.

Sure, you need to help that person to see what’s in it for them, but you don’t need to hard core close them or hype things up to make it more exciting for them.

If you have a proven, results-based marketing system in place: You can generate a ton of your own high-quality leads that are responsive to your message and have the time to consult with them in a relaxed, non-sales type of environment and get better results.

Doing this will free up your time so you are spending 80%+ of your work time with interested prospects and signing people up, and only 20% or less finding them.

This will also allow you to relax more because you are not stressed about having enough interested people to talk to, AND (if you have an effective marketing system in place) you are able to make passive income while building your long term residual income.

A big killer in MLM is that initial commission you make in the form of a sign-up bonus or first product sale. Don’t put your focus there: Put it into building the residuals and start using an effective marketing system that will allow you to earn passive cash every time you generate a lead. This upfront money will keep you going while your residuals grow.

Last, but not least: Enjoy the time you spend with prospects and team members. Don’t be thinking of ‘how can I get this person in’. Just relax, ask questions to determine their specific needs and wants, and if your solution fits their situation - present it to them in a consultative manner and look to improve their end throughout the conversation.

Doing business like this gets you much better results; and better results is always fun!

You can and should have fun in building your network marketing business IF you are using the proper tools and if you know how to truly attend to people’s needs and consult, not sell.

A legitimate home based business opportunity knows that not everyone will succeed with their business model because some people are just plain lazy and want to believe that they can make money doing nothing. Why do you think there are so many get rich schemes in the first place. An honest business will give you your money back if it isn’t for you because they do not want to ruin a good reputation.

Look for a low (3-6% refund rate and avoid any with refund rates that are unknown (means high) or as high as 9-10%.

That will winnow it down to about the good 5% of the total paid survey sites which will find the good 20% of the survey makers. With these survey makers you can make money. Take two surveys a day for $10 and $25 and you could make over a thousand dollars a month!

Most network marketing businesses fail. By saying ‘Fail’ I mean that the business does not make money. I know this isn’t profound but if you’re not making money, then you do not have a successful business. I think there’s really 4 reasons why people fail to make money, but don’t take my word for it. 4) Lack of Desire — A lack of desire to succeed is high on the list for many people. It means that people don’t have a big enough ‘why’. I have to say that I personally disagree with this. My opinion is that most people have the desire, they just don’t want to hassle their friends or family. If they had a way to work and make money while they were doing it, they would.

3) Lack of Quality Training — By quality training I don’t mean motivational talks. There’s an abundance of motivational trainings in this business. Quality training will help you get prospects and make money. If the training doesn’t help you get new people or better help your team enroll people, it’s not training that builds your business.

2) Lack of Support — For many of us, this is really the number one challenge. There’s no one to actually work with. People in this business are terrible for promising training and support, but it’s really just an illusion. Support has come to mean “Just go sponsor people”. Yea thanks for the help. A Quality support system will actually give you a small group of people to plug into who are building a business like you. It’s a place where you can ask questions, work through issues, and brain storm for solutions.

1) Can’t get Prospects that are Truly Interested or Qualified — In my opinion this IS the number one reason people don’t make money. You don’t want to call a names list of people who aren’t interested. It’s a hard sell to have to talk to people who aren’t interested. You need a way to build your business that doesn’t involve pestering people. You need a way to create highly qualified, interested prospects that are hungry for what you have. If you had that, you wouldn’t need any motivation. If you have people coming to you, then you have a business that you’ll make money with.

Those are my top 4 reasons people fail in network marketing, but don’t take my word for it. Make up your own top 4 list, and then get a game plan together for what you’re going to do about it.

Take Online Surveys for Cash; Get Paid to Take Surveys

There are tons of paid survey business being conducted on the Internet. Every week there are thousands of surveys being made. Every month tens of thousands of participants who take online surveys for cash get paid to take surveys and receive checks in the mail.

Not all of the surveys being made are actually done on a paid basis, although almost all survey makers claim that their surveys are paid. In fact, only about 20% of the 700+ survey makers in the U.S. and 3,000+ worldwide actually pay their participants on a regular, equitable basis.

It’s the old “80-20 rule”. 20% of the survey makers pay out 80% of the cash or equivalent that is paid to survey participants.

If you plan to make money, to take online surveys for cash and get paid to take surveys, you need to locate and apply to this 20% of survey makers that really pay.

The big companies that commission the surveys to get answers to their questions agree to fees charged and send the money out to the market researchers who pay the survey makers. The problem is, that while about 20% of these pay the participants in cash, the rest try to “play games” with it so they can keep more of the total fee.

Those that pay in cash have low turnover, keep their same participants and almost never pay recruiting fees. Those that don’t pay, the low-pay/no-pay survey makers, have high turnover and have to constantly recruit new participants.

There are a number of paid survey websites, both free and paid, that you can turn to for help in getting started with paid surveys. Both types have lists of survey makers to which you can apply.

These sites make money either from membership fees they collect from their members or from recruitment fees they collect from survey makers, or both. To find the survey makers that pay you want to pay your own guide to take you where YOU want to go; avoid the guides that someone else is paying to bring you to them!

Look for paid survey sites with a STRONG 50-90 day money-back guarantee, backed up by a bank or financial company. Within the group that meet this qualification, look for one with a low (3-6%) refund rate. Avoid all with refund rates that are “unknown” (generally means high!) or that are as high as 9-10% or more.

The refund rate tells you what the previous clients of that site thought of it. A low refund rate means that they were satisfied, happy and making money - the list of survey makers they received worked. They were able to take online surveys for cash, to get paid to take surveys.

A high refund rate indicates many unhappy clients demanding their money back. They are saying (by demanding refunds) that the list was useless to them.

Whether this was from the list being poorly maintained or from the site “double dipping”, sending them to survey makers who paid the site instead of them, is not important. What is important is that a high refund rate means trouble; stay away!

When you pick your paid survey site and get your copy of their list, apply to all the survey makers on the list. When you begin to take online surveys for cash and get paid paid to take surveys you should easily make back your membership fees with the payment from the first 2-3 surveys taken.

Depending on your demographics your diligence and the number of good survey makers you sign up with, you should be able to make good money. Many report average incomes from paid surveys of $1,000 or more a month from a just few hours spent filling out survey questionnaires each week.
