You put in the work today so five years from now you NEVER have to again.

If you are repeatedly changing your direction and starting new businesses just think about how much time you are losing on the financial lasting wealth you are trying to build.

Network marketing is not some sort of trendy “hottest thing now” type of business. Network marketing is about relationships of tight knit groups that can and will last a lifetime if the proper care is put into the process.

Choosing the multiple income approach may help you out in the short run but you will be robbed of the enormous and life altering checks in the long run.

So the question you have to ask yourself is this:

Well let me tell you I am no scam artist I was raised by two of the most loving and honest people it was my pleasure to know.. I thank the lord every day for what they did for me. Old School types if you know what I mean. Both are now watching over me from above. They had morals and standards that they passed on to me.

I’m a mother of 4 of the most exceptional adults it is my privilege to know. Yea all parents would say that about their children. They have bestowed me with 12 of the liveliest soon to be 13 grandchildren. It was a wonder that they lived, as I was a single parent for 18 years. I worked as a Bartender for 21+ years as a courier driver for 6 years. A Data Entry specialists until the company was bought and moved to Denver. Met the love of my life in 1989 and married him in 1992. My husband worked for the government for 25+ years. Worked as a welder then like every other company in the USA we were caught in down sizing. Forced into early retirement sold our home moved to Kingman Arizona. Got our place in the sun. We moved to Kingman to be in gold country we love metal detecting for gold. Yes we have found our share of heavens pavement. We call it our 4-0 AU Plan. It wasn’t very long after the move that we realized that our NET “Not Enough To” wasn’t going to work for us as we have dreams and desires “after all we weren’t dead just retired,” the amount of income we had would not allow us to live life just get good at barely getting by!!!

There seems to be a few out there that would rather blame anything or anyone else for their failures. Never taking the responsibility for their own actions.

Yes there are also those that are out to do nothing but take your money and run. If they are offering special prices or something other then what is offered. It more than likely is a scam. It is up to you to do your homework or as we say due diligence.. If you get an opportunity to investigate Coastal do it with the person that invited you. Before joining ask for personal references, ask to met their TEAM. Make sure they have a legitimate association with Coastal Vacation.

Just because you can’t find them on the Web or cyber space does not mean that they are a scam artist out to take advantage of you!!!! As the Big Wig would have you believe. They could be just like me a hard working person that has not been in the business long enough to have a cyber space presence. Which does not mean we are not successful. Just because we are new to the business does not mean we can’t assist you in becoming successful. Notice I use the word assist because the only one that can truly make you a success is yourself!! If anyone ever offers you success saying they can do it for you watch out.

In all businesses and especially in the home based business industry, we are involved with Selling something. Yes, we are in the business of course to assist others but in some way large or small we are either selling ourselves, our service or a product we feel will better the lives of others.

One of the most crucial steps in becoming a phenomenal sales person is to first understand that it is far more important to answer the question “why do they buy?” and not “how do I sell?”. No let me correct that… It is one billion times more important than “How do I sell?”. It is also worth noting that people love to buy things but do not like to be sold. Hmm…This one is worth exploring but first I will address the “Why they Buy” statement.

To quote a famous author, speaker, salesman: “If they like you, and they believe you, and they trust you, and they have confidence in you…then they MAY buy from you. - Jeffrey Gitomer

1. I like the person selling to me

NOTE: Liking is the single most powerful element in a sales relationship. Ask youself if you have every bought directly from someone you do not like.

2. I understand what I am buying.

It is best not to assume that the person knows what you know about your products and services. To help them get there, first ask them questions so that you know what they know. Then fill in the missing pieces where appropriate.

3. I perceive a difference in the person and the company I am buying from.

4. I perceive a value in the product that I am purchasing.

Don’t just tell them about the details of your product and service. Make certain you speak also in terms of the value they will receive as well.

5. I believe my sales rep.

6. I have confidence in my sales rep. (Do you keep your promises. Do you follow up when you say you will.)

7. I trust my sales rep. (Like leads to trust. Trust leads to buying. Buying leads to a relationship. That’s not the life cycle, that’s the life cycle of sales.)

8. I feel there is a fit for my needs and his/her product and service. (Asking questions and learning more about them can help with this one. Taking the time to learn how you can HELP them with your product and service can help them “sell themselves” on the value it will bring to them. Taking that extra step and showing interest in them and how you can help them will establish longer relationships. Do you want a sale or sales for a lifetime?

10. The price seems fair, but isn’t necessarily the lowest.

Remember that taking an interest in the other person’s needs and truly helping them will build lasting relationships. For instance, if you know that your product or service would not be right for them and you were up front. Perhaps pointing them in a better direction. The trust you build can lead you to possible referrals. It is alright to ask them for referrals at some point. Think about how many referrals you actually make in a month. You refer friends to a great new product you tried, a movie you liked, a new fabulous restaurant…we are referring machines. Why wouldn’t someone refer you after you spent the time really trying to help them.

One last tip on understanding why your customers buy: ASK THEM. Get their feedback. Give them value other’s don’t by keeping in touch with other value added touches (be better than your competition). I promote wellness and will often send my customers free articles and information about health and wellness. Give value for free! Remember you are building relationships for a lifetime. Give more than you ask for and it will come back to you in life as well as in business.

You know you want to start a home based business but you don’t have the time to come up with an idea. Or the more you rack your brains the less ideas you come up with. Finding inspiration for a great home based business is easier than you might think. 1. Have a pen and paper handy; how often have you thought of a great business plan, but when you come to write it down a few hours later, you’ve forgotten it? Make sure that doesn’t happen again! Keep a notebook with you at all times, that way you can jot down ideas as and when you have them.

2. Friends; ask someone who knows you well for their opinion. What services are they looking for? What do they think your strengths are? What areas of business do they think you should avoid?

3. Hobbies; although it is great to do something you are passionate about, and there is little doubt this will keep your enthusiasm for your home based business at an optimum level, stop and think first. Are there enough people who share your hobby? Would they be likely to use the product or service you are offering? If the answer is no then it’s time for a rethink.

4. Longevity; will your business have year round appeal? If you are planning to sell deckchairs then you may need to think of something else to do in the winter months.

5. Read; books and articles about how businesses started out are always useful. Gather information about how they set about building their businesses. Even if they are in different fields, it can still have relevance to setting up your home based business.

6. Look around; look at the types of local businesses you have in your area. Your home based business may be completely different, but thinking about the way other businesses operate will give you ideas for yours.

7. Walk around; take a walk around your neighbourhood. What do people do? What products or services are missing from your area? Could your home based business plug the gaps?

8. Trade Fairs; it is worth keeping an eye out for trade fairs in your local area. Go and visit these. They will provide you with an opportunity to talk to people already doing what you want to do. They can provide you with information about how they started out and pitfalls to avoid.

9. Look at your experiences; take a look at your cv. Although the motivation for starting your home based business may be to move right away from the job you’re in at the moment, it is useful to think about what skills and training you have at the gained. Could these provide a starting point for your business?

10. Money; realistically your choice will be influenced by how much capital you have available. Overstretching yourself financially is not a good idea. Be realistic about the type of business you can afford to have. You can always start small and build as capital becomes available.

Beware of the Fluff. They seem like great companies, they have a good sales pitch and their comp plan looks good too, they claim to be the best place online. They have big corporate offices and have been around for years. Isn’t that good? Any company out there that sells products like lotions, potions, pills, miracle juices or miracle gas saving products usually doesn’t work for the average person for many reasons.

Those companies usually make most of their money from you, the distributor, not from selling the products. They have you on auto ship, so you are their income. They only pay about 2% to 15% so many levels deep. They will tell you that when you fill the matrix, you won’t have to do anything and you’ll be making 20 to 40k a month. The truth is, there are so many loop holes to their comp plans that no body ever reaches those levels. You either will have too many people on your left, but not enough on your right side to make the higher level payouts. They tell you that you need more personal volume and your group volume is fine or vice versa, or my favorite, you had fallout this month, so you no longer qualify for that car bonus we promised you about.

They make you hold home parties to push your crap on your friends. Listen to me…..If I wanted weight loss, I’d go to GNC. If I wanted Lotions, I’d go to CVS, Save on, Nordstrom or Bullocks. If I wanted to put additives in my gas tank, I’d go to Kragen, Chief or Pep Boys and buy a product from STP or Penzoil. You get what I mean….?

They are a copy cat company of the original company. How many companies out there are selling a juice that is based from the Acai Berry, Goji berry or the Mangosteen fruit? How many of those promise to cure cancer? What a joke? Is our society that ignorant that if something actually cured cancer, wouldn’t we want to check it out? How many travel companies are there now? How many fuel additives are there now? How many of those have been shut down? How many make up, skin lotions and vitamin companies are there out there?

It just seems like there is so many junk companies on the internet, how do you what is good and what is not? Some of these companies above actually have a good product, but I would never go in business with them.

So, how do I choose a business that I can profit from and that I can be proud to represent?
When I evaluate a company, I look for these key points. Keep in mind, when I join a company, my #1 goal is to make money and to do it legitimately. I do not want to hurt anyone or rip anyone off. This is what I’ve learned and these guidelines will help you determine what company is right for you.

If you are not making at least 75% of the upfront commission when you make a sale, forget it. This means that you are doing all the work and the company and/or the person above you is making all the money.

If you have to have 1000, 10,000 or 20,000 people in your organization before you make any real money. DO NOT Join. Most people will NEVER get there.

If they teach you to hold home parties and invite all your friends. Run away fast.
If they have a sales pitch 2-3 times a day and only 2-3 training classes per week.

This means that the company is more interested in selling you than training you how to make money long term.

If you can’t break even or get into profit with 3 sales, forget it.

If you can’t speak with the owners or the corporate office via phone or webinar - Forget it. I like to know who I am doing business with before I will do business with them.

If it is a start up or in pre launch, forget. The chances of these companies becoming the next Amway is about as good as winning the lottery. At least with the lottery, you have a chance to win once or twice a week. You might as well go to Vegas and blow your money on a good time. At least you’ll have some great memories, see a great show and have a great meal.

These are not all the rules for success on the internet, but this is a great guideline to follow when evaluating an internet company.

They say that inspiration, and ‘ah-ha’ moments, strike in the strangest circumstances sometimes. I never would have guessed that it would be whilst watching Australian Idol, however. Nonetheless, I found some very good examples in the contestants that represented what it takes to get over the line in a home business. And in some contestants - what still needs to be overcome if you want to set up a successful business online, or take it to the next level.

Australian Idol this year moved away from just plucking contestants out of their suburban living rooms with nothing but a dream. Sure, they were still after contestants with dreams. But they wanted people to have some musical experience, and preferably, some industry experience. Whilst the internet is not so structured, with a panel of judges deciding whether you will make it to the next round, in many ways this still reflects the fact that the competition has gotten stronger online.

There are millions and millions of websites, all competing for similar keywords. The level of search engine optimization has changed, becoming more sophisticated. Generally, results from organic search take longer to trickle through - and in some cases, unless significant link building work is done, all that remains is a trickle.

In short, it’s not as easy as it was to build a successful work from home business online. Does that mean it’s impossible? Absolutely not! In fact, I would go so far as to say it still represents a relatively easy mountain to hike.

That may seem like a contradiction, but it’s actually not. What brings the equation from ‘impossible’ to ‘relatively easy’ is knowledge and commitment. And expectations. When you’re looking at the mountain, and you’ve never been hiking before - or even driving through that neck of the woods - it’s going to seem harder than it is. Not only do you have no idea of the way to proceed, you don’t even know what you’re really going to expect on the trail. That can lead to projecting all sorts of your own limitations and fears onto the journey before you’ve even begun. And that’s a sure fire way to shoot yourself in the foot.

So, the first thing you really need to do is find out what you need for the journey. For an online home business, the foundation is a website, irrespective of whether you are going to create your own information products, sell hard goods, other people’s products, or make money from advertising.

With your own website, you have a way to build credibility with your visitors through great content. You can collect email addresses to market to later. You can offer courses, and use it as a platform to sell products (and of course, host advertising). The website is the means through which you can garner traffic, and pre-sell that traffic. It means that even if you sell other people’s products, you still have a business - you’re not just a ’salesperson’. And that capacity to build a relationship with your visitors through content make content driven websites a lot easier to start with than mini-sites, which require a more specialized marketing knowledge to make successful.

A website is not the only thing you need however. But it is an essential beginning.

Once you’ve got your website, commitment and expectations become more important to manage. The internet still offers a way to become profitable more quickly than a regular, offline business - especially for the inexperienced person starting from home. Yet, because of all the advertising, and our own natural impatience, we tend to want results fast. We even forget that we are actually still learning, and this is a business environment like any other. The same rules apply. And if we don’t know those rules, then how can we realistically expect the same results that the online equivalent of a Fortune 500 company has. By managing our expectations, identifying what needs to be learnt to take the next step (and not the next 8th step, which at this stage would be irrelevant), and by making a commitment to follow through on what needs to be done, we can turn that ‘impossible’ into ‘easy’ in no time.

It is suicidal for a business owner to prevent anyone from being effective at recruiting. It is the most vital activity in any network marketing business. Let me give you an example of restricive practices in an network marketing business opportunity.

For several months, I got involved in a forum which formed the communication and training center of a program with a concept so different that I needed time to become comfortable with it. For most of that period, I wrestled with a feeling that it was all smoke and mirrors, but I eventually realised as many successful network marketers do that, if there was just one person in five thousand who thought it was a genuine and wholesome program, then in a world population of six billion, there would be at least one million other people who would feel the same about this program, so let’s go find them.

Spending a lot of time reading up on the marketing and promotion ideas and putting them into action, I eventually realised that almost all the advice was plausible rubbish. The opportunity was being exposed to hundreds of thousands of people and many were joining as it was free, but no one was making any money. The inevitable happened as people started drifting away resulting in the usual massive list of completely inactive, unresponsive members who existed in name and email address only.

The program closed because the web-hosting service suspected that the program was nothing more than smoke and mirrors and possibly illegal, so they refused to continue hosting it. The word was out and no other web hosting service would take over, so the program as such was buried.

Remarkably, within weeks the head honcho had set up again with a program which couldn’t be accused of being smoke and mirrors or an illegal anything. All members of the original program were offered equivalent positions, retaining their downline and a new forum was opened.

The same people were in the forum with the same old plausible but ineffective ideas on marketing and promoting. But this time, because joining involved parting with cash for product, the number of new members registering each month was pitifully small and mainly introduced by the head honcho plus one or two others who weren’t about to divulged their methods.

However, the owner decided that if people were prepared to pay him a fee he would use that money to advertise and he would recruit a new member for the person who had paid the fee. Let’s call it the VIP program. Sounds fair enough, doesn’t it? But then he went further.

He announced that only the members who had been actively participating in the old forum could benefit from the VIP program. So all the others who had drifted away because the advice posted was ineffective, were banned from participating. Okay, so they hadn’t helped and maybe you feel that the new recruitment package should only be for those actively posting in the forum. However, isn’t this at best, a tad short-sighted?

Let’s assume you were allowed to participate in the VIP program and you received a new member, who then copied you and subsequently received a new member, too. Now let’s say that this process continued down several more generations with everyone being a little reluctant to participate in the forum, then the next person recruited was a real “carer”. They just loved that forum. They just loved the interaction and helping others.

On the other hand, let’s assume that you had been banned. You didn’t pay your fee so you didn’t start building your team. Would that carer have been found? Possibly, but also, very possibly not. The important point is this; a wise network marketing business owner knows that it is not only you that counts but also the people who join because of your involvement.

If you are involved in any opportunity that clamps a restriction on your ability to recruit, then I strongly recommend you find another network marketing business, and fast.
