Happy Halloween to Everyone!
Last night (after a VERY long day writing my “One Time Offers” in readiness for my “Internet Marketing Success Academy” launch) I decided to put my feet up with a nice-big glass of red wine in front of the TV.
Now don’t get the wrong idea here - I’m not usually prone to watching much TV. Fact is I think so much TV these days is just not good for you. Especially the news, which seems to be nothing more than opportunity to watch the most depressing show in town. Seriously, in my opinion the “news” should could with a government health warning!
Anyway - here I was, TV remote in one hand and a glass of red in the other sat in “dad’s chair in front of the 54″ TV and Gordon Ramsey’s Kitchen Nightmares come on. Rather apt given that it’s Halloween.
The show is based on Gordon going in to “failing” restaurants and basically turning them around. Last night he was in a “Fish Restaurant” in Brighton UK. Without going in to too much detail here, lets just say this place was a disaster and was literally costing the owner his home. Their takings were sometimes as low as £3.38 ($6.76) for a FULL days work…The place was losing £1,000 ($2,000) every single week.
The over-whelming thing that came through (once again) as Gordon tried to help the owner was that the owner didn’t want to take Gordon’s advice…
Strange when you consider that Gordon is widely recognised as one of the best chefs in the world and has been INVITED in to give his advice!
One of the first things Gordon did (after he’d seen what they were serving) was to go out in to Brighton and ASK what people actually thought about the restaurant.
1. Why didn’t they like it?
2. What would make them come and use it?
Armed with the “Prospects” answers he took his advice and laid out a plan for the owner to follow. Strangely enough, the biggest resistance to change the owner had, was to change the decor inside.
He actually loved the way he had “done his place out”. I mean “what the ‘f’ does ‘effin’ Gordon Ramsey know…”
Well actually he knew that the prospects & customers “hated” the decor of the place. By the way it wasn’t to my taste either BUT it wasn’t that bad. However…
The point is WITHOUT asking the prospects he would have never have known that the décor was putting people off. As were the prices…As was the menu….
This is exactly what we marketers mean when we say things like, “you must know/research your market…” - “find a hungry crowd…” (no pun intended!)
The restaurant is now a HUGE success. The amazing thing is, Gordon maybe one of the worlds top chefs but he didn’t do anything special to the food. He didn’t give the chefs a master class in cooking…
He simply put his “Business” head on and asked his prospects what they wanted and then gave it to them. Plain & Simple.
I have to tell you, it was some of the most compelling TV I’ve seen in a long time. Hats off to Mr Ramsey!
Can you apply this to your business? Would you like or need a Gordon Ramsey type person to come in and sort your Internet Business out?
If you do then help is at hand at! Check out how in the signature below.
Have A Great Halloween! James.

Successful people knew very early that in order to be successful, you must be INITIATIVE. Only you can guarantee your own success and only you can hinder yourself from success.
Success was accumulated and builds on the foundation of hard work. No matter what kind of industry you are in, if you want to be successful, you have to work for it. Success was never achieved overnight. Do you remember the saying “Rome was not build in one day”?
To be a successful person, you must initiate your hard work. Because of the initiative, you will start to be responsible to yourself and you will do whatever it takes to achieve your goal. And by that time, you will start to take your own action without waiting for others to tell you.
When you lock initiative in your mind, creativity will start to flow into your head and you will be able to generate beneficial idea. Then you can accomplish your task in an effective way. You will start to embrace risk in a more positive way and even know how to calculate it to maximize your success.
A lot of people nowadays are afraid of taking risk. The reason may because that they fear they might get hurt, disappointed or even laugh by others if they failed. It is a question why you want to think like that? When you started to do something, you have another 50% chance to be successful. Who told you that the chances of failing are higher than SUCCESS?
In the 21st. century, personal initiative is highly recommended for success. You take our own action when you know what to do without others pushing you forward. And this is the attitude to success. By the way, you also won’t like pushing you to do things. Right?
However there are still a lot of people nowadays kept giving excuses like:
“I can’t do it, I have no time.”
“I will do it later.”
“I am occupied with other things.”
Don’t they just sound familiar?
Success only belongs to those who take their own action. When you become an initiative person, you control your personal improvement. You understand the meaning of personal development and you start to grow.
You can only create opportunity for yourself when you are passionate about your own success and improvement. However this will be different for those who play safe, they always wait for others to give them chance and by doing that they are actually pushing success away.
So from now on, change your attitude. Remember, be INITIATIVE and you will be able to change your life.

Thousands of people start home based businesses every year. So what sets the successful ventures apart from the unsuccessful ones?
There are a few key things that you need to keep in mind when you’re looking for a business to start. Many well intended and highly qualified entrepreneurs start home businesses with high expectations, only to fail. These are some important points that I have deducted from my experience in having a home based business. Hopefully you’ll be able to take some of these ideas and apply them successfully to your new endeavor.
1) Do Your Research
The most important factor to beginning any successful business, whether home based or traditional, is to be well informed. You need to research different opportunities and narrow it down to the one company that best fits what you’re looking for. Hindsight is 20/20. You don’t want to have to look back on the decision that you made as a poor choice because you were ill prepared. This will involve doing your due diligence. Find out about the founders, the comp plan, and the product that you will be promoting. The only poor choice that you can make is an uninformed decision.
2) Have A Budget
One of the biggest mistakes that you can make early in your business start up is to squander away a lot of money on unnecessary purchases. A well thought out business plan requires a strict budget. You need to know exactly what is going out and coming in. This will be especially important early on before you turn a profit. Not being prepared and spending frivolously will only add additional pressure to an already stressful situation. Focus on the essentials and leave the extras for when you can afford it.
3) Manage Your Time
Another thing to keep in mind when starting to work from home is time management. Considering that most people who start a home based business will still be employed outside of their home full time, this makes time management all that more important. Create a list of things that you need to accomplish on a daily basis and then work through the list until every item is completed. Avoid distractions and focus solely on work when you’re in your office.
4) Find A Mentor
This may be a difficult assignment considering that as entrepreneurs we pride ourselves on independence. However, receiving training and guidance from someone who is already successful in your area is priceless.
While starting a home based business is exhilarating, there are certain patterns that need to be developed early on. This will ensure success for you and your family for years to come.

All the top achievers have something in common.
They found a road map for success and shared the route with others.
They’ve discovered the map that not everyone is shown.
If you know where you want to go and you’ve figured out how to take others along for the ride, nothing can hold you back from achieving the freedom and independence you desire!
By simply reading this you have taken the first step on a journey that will forever alter your sponsoring results. When you learn and apply the correct strategies and tactics that are required, recruiting will become easy, fun and enjoyable!
You will never again have to go “cap in hand” to get people to look at your MLM opportunity.
Instead they will be the one contacting you!
I want to share this knowledge with you because I have found a missing piece to the MLM puzzle.
It has been almost impossible for people to find down to earth, hands-on training that will help them achieve success.
After many years in this industry I am sold on Network marketing.
It is the purest form of team building you will find anywhere and the only realistic shot most of us will ever have at reaching our fullest potential.
This leads us back to the MAP.
A road map is worthless unless you actually use it to reach your destination.
The real price of this map is really only your commitment to learning, applying and mastering the information it contains.
The good news is that if you’re motivated enough to put this information to use, after a couple of months, when you learn and truly own this knowledge, you can expect your Network Marketing organization to explode beyond your wildest dreams!
Last but certainly not least, I acknowledge you, the reader, for having a dream and taking the necessary actions required to build it.
Your efforts WILL be rewarded!

A network marketer recently emailed my office to seek some MLM training advice for a problem he was having: He could get appointments set…but prospects seemed to disappear after that. Here’s the question:
“I can get appointments to meet with people. My call rate is very good with people I know or have met. But I can’t seem to get a follow through meeting, to go further. “I’m told that, ‘you can’t say the wrong thing to the right person or you can’t say the right thing to the wrong person.’ I’m supposed to find the person ‘who is looking’ because if they are looking you ‘couldn’t beat them out of getting into network marketing with a stick.’” —Warren
Great question Warren.
I do agree with the quote—with a few additions and perhaps some alterations. Sometimes the prospect might “be ready” but isn’t looking or isn’t looking for an MLM business.
Picture a person driving to his job and is pondering that he wishes he could own his own business. Is he looking? No. He’s thinking. If you know this person, and you’ve had the proper MLM training, then you know how to do an effective invite (using the Inviting Formula) and will be able to take this person from “thinking” to looking. Rarely have I seen someone who was out looking for an MLM company. It does happen but not commonly.
Most often your quote is a comment made by speakers from a stage who don’t know how to train the specifics of inviting so the quote is a variation to “just do the numbers.”
It’s very easy to say, “Just do the numbers.” It’s harder to say, “Let me show you how to do an effective invite call.” And, it’s even harder to say, “I’ll teach YOU how to do an effective invite call.”
So instead sometimes a leader’s MLM training comes down instructing you to just say, “Do the numbers” and find people who are looking. The other thing is, you need to be the best inviter you can be when you do talk to that person who is looking. So no matter what you do, you’re going to have to learn good inviting skills. And by the way, follow through is part of the inviting skills!
As for your follow thru question, I’m assuming that you’re using the words FOLLOW THROUGH as I discussed in the MLM training series “Professional Inviter” - which is different than FOLLOW UP.
Follow through is once your prospect has indicated an interest to do the business that you follow through and deliver EVERY THING the prospect requires to get him what he’s stated he needs/wants and/or doesn’t want—this you would have gotten by using the Inviting Formula.
Normally this is way more than what is in your standard-issue training manual. If you hand the training manual to the new person and the first thing they read is, “make a list of 200 people” and your new person doesn’t do it, have you delivered everything the prospect requires? No.
Something is still in their way. Inability to communicate may be in their way; it may be they need a better understanding of what they will be doing; it may be they don’t see themselves being a sales person or it may be that they need to fly to the company so they have certainty that it’s a real business!
If you’ve listened to Professional Inviter you’ve heard my live calls and heard me on the phone with Ruth and Nadira. The moment they indicated that they were interested in the business I moved towards an appointment. If I can’t meet with someone locally, I just continue the conversation over the phone. Now both Ruth and Nadira had things that were still in the way of doing the business that I had to help them overcome—and both of them were “looking.”
My point is, the key to FOLLOW THROUGH is NOT saying “Next” as soon as someone is stuck on something! Help them through whatever they’re stuck on. Now I know many people will say that I have the Mother Theresa complex. Well, I don’t mind being compared to her because she was a very noble person and helped a lot of people. But remember, my sponsor would not have sponsored me had he not followed up and followed through with me to help me overcome my barriers.
When do I “quit” following through? When they stop taking my calls or they ask me to stop calling.
The speed at which you identify what the person is stuck on is critical. When you first sponsor someone or you have someone who has indicated they’re interested—do not let a single day go by that you’re not talking to them. Keep them close so you can get them past sticking points.
Also as soon as they start moving, gently (meaning very slowly) ease off so they don’t grow dependent on you. This is a topic I’ll leave for a later time, but I wanted you to see that some people make the mistake of connecting themselves to their people and never pass them the power to do it themselves … so they never do.
If I could leave you with one key MLM training point as it relates to Follow Up and Follow Through, it would be this: You must have a sincere desire to make your prospect’s life better. When your aim and intention is focused on this, your follow up actions will be focused on the right things, and your prospect will respond to your helpfulness and sincere desire to help.

Summary: When an individual no longer had the ability to make a determination on what they would do with their lives as far as being self-sufficient they simply felt their only choice was to become someone’s servant in the workplace — apathy was the result and it affects all areas of society today.
He was a rancher and he subcontracted to be a stagecoach driver in the late 1800’s. He had four sons and they all served in the military because that’s what America’s sons did as a way of expressing gratitude for the freedom to pursue life.
As the man aged he found it more difficult to manage a ranch on his own so he leased the land for farming and he became a railroad engineer and later a police officer after his wife passed away.
But when he talked about what he loved best it was always ranching. He would recall the days riding fence or rescuing cattle after a blizzard. He always recalled these as the hardest years of his life, but the most rewarding and his eyes twinkled as he spoke.
His story is echoed across an aging population. They felt most alive when they called the shots — when they controlled their destiny.
As industrialization swept the country and as a second wage earner was required to make ends meet many people abandoned the notion that they could ever own a business so they simply went to work wherever they could find it, and this, I contend was the beginning of widespread apathy in America.
When an individual no longer had the ability to make a determination on what they would do with their lives as far as being self-sufficient they simply felt their only choice was to become someone’s servant and life was drained from living.
As time marched on new generations simply looked to the future and saw college as their means of finding the best job they could. Most college graduates today are not contemplating job creation they are only contemplating job offers.
Perhaps the apathy that is pervasive in the world today has to do with the feeling that there is no destiny to control, no decisions to make and no future to get excited about.
This idea runs parallel with statistics that show a steady decline in job satisfaction among America’s workforce.
There would certainly be a problem if today’s workforce were to simply leave the workforce and attempt to develop their own business. There are so many service industries today and each of them require a steady supply of willing workers, but the idea of a home-based business is appealing to those who had grandparents and great grandparents who once knew the joy of business ownership.
There are many reasons cited for apathy in America. I contend the prevailing feeling that we are not in control of our own destiny and that our choices are few are the feelings that leads many to simply work for the weekend without being able to see something better five years down the road or remember something better in the past.
Home-based business could be a positive answer for negative apathy for many who have a dream they have been hiding for far too long.

Those are words you never want to hear when dealing with your online business. We all hear about the 95% who quit, and as an upline in your organization, it is up to you to keep this from happening. I want to give a few tips to help keep your downline motivated, informed, and focused on their business. If they quit, not only do they lose, but so do you.
First off, you have to make this venture personal (not just for yourself). If you are too focused on conversions, articles, PPC’s, etc…you are going to lose a valuable asset in your home business. Your downline. You have to communicate to the people who are helping to create your success. As an upline it is your responsibility to teach others what you have done. Why would you not do that? Emulation of success breathes even more success.
OK upline, have you sent a broadcast or postcard to the people in your groups letting them know that you are there for them? Are you giving them vital information on how to grow their business? Now, I do not want to hear, “I send them emails but they never respond.” Maybe they don’t. Maybe they do not have you on their acceptable email list. Ask them to send you a response stating they do. If they do not respond, at least you sent the information and keep sending it. Also, get them to join forums or social groups so they feel like they are part of the team.
The more you send, the better chance you have to keep someone in your group. As an upline you can make or break a person who is seriously thinking of bailing out. When someone gets the impression that you care about their success, this can be a turning point for them. For example, say you have someone who is on the fence and is unsure if they want to quit the online business or leap over it running toward financial freedom. As their personal upline, do you let them fall or do you light the fire under them that causes the chain reaction within them that makes them the next online business guru?
The power of one email or even a phone call can make that person in your downline the next Internet millionaire. Just one. What if you duplicate this over and over because you take 2 minutes a few days a week to let your people know that are there for them? Remember, if you are at the top of the totem pole, the only way you stay there is to keep the others in the line stable. “Hey, upline I quit” should never be heard if you do everything you can to help your downline find their groove.
Teach them to do exactly what you do. The sooner you erase the “quit” mentality, the more growth you will have in the future.

When I’m talking with someone and they share with me that they are ready to start living and ready to get out of debt I know I can help them. The comment I hate hearing the most is “I’m too busy”. So do you want to start living and get out of debt or are you too busy for that? Then they go on to share with me what’s going on in their life and I see so many open time for building that high income online business I have just shared with them. The business that will help them get out of debt so they can start living the life they want to live.
Isn’t it amazing how much we can fit into our busy schedules when it’s something we WANT to do? But when it’s something we desire we seem to feel unworthy and then we find so many excuses for why we can’t do it.
Excuses like:
* I have a lot of kids
* I homeschool
* I’m working on my degree
* I volunteer too many hours in the community
* I have too many things going on at home
* I don’t have a supportive significant other
* We’re moving
* My income is limited
The list goes on and on and on. I am here to take those excuses away from you. I only want to hear reasons for not getting started in your own business. If you’re reading this article it’s because you WANT it but you aren’t quite sure how to get around the obstacles in your life.
First let me tell you that there will always be obstacles the bigger question is this, “How badly do you want it?” How important are your goals and the goals of your family. Do you even have goals or are you just waking up each morning and allowing life to determine your path? Do you believe that you can change your path at any time? What strategies have you come up with for making those forever changes you want to make but haven’t made yet?
It’s time to make some changes and the very first place to start is to make a list of all of your excuses. Whenever someone talks to you about home businesses that are available out there — and there are many available to you — what excuses do you come up with? Write them down. That’s right. Get a piece of paper and write them down right now. I’ll wait…….(whistling, hummming, laughing with my kids, getting a drink, a snack…..)
Okay, now you have your list. Please know that you may add to this list at anytime. You will also be removing items from the list. I want you to go through your list and determine which ones are actual reasons. I think you’ll be surprised by the few that are actual reasons. A reason is something that is real such as, “I’m in the hospital with cancer and can’t focus on a business right now” — THAT’S A REASON! “I don’t want to use my credit card” — that’s an excuse. So don’t use your credit card. Save up the money you will need to get started. The person who introduced you to whatever business you are looking at should be willing and able to give you specific dollar amounts. If he or she isn’t willing to share those numbers with you then it’s not the business for you.
Do I have excuses? Honestly, there are days when I’d like to just quit but I know that nothing is impossible. Let’s go over the excuses I listed earlier and allow me to share a few things with you.
* I have a lot of kids — I HAVE 8 ranging in age from 19 years to 20 months! How many do you have?
* I homeschool — SO DO I!
* I’m working on my degree — ME TOO! Working on my Doctorate in Natural Health. How ’bout you?
* I volunteer too many hours in the community — SAME HERE! I am available to mothers within my community 24/7.
* I have too many things going on at home — REALLY? ME TOO! Life is always busy.
* I don’t have a supportive significant other — DO IT ANYWAY — he/she will come around
* We’re moving — DID THIS TOO — we still have boxes in every room and we moved a month ago.
* My income is limited — JOIN THE CLUB! I am using the money I make from teaching one night a week.
That’s right — those are all me as well. I’ve also experienced single parenthood and full-time working mom. Those wouldn’t have stopped me either had someone introduced me to something worthwhile back then. I guess what I’d like for you to know is this….
NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE! Absolutely nothing is impossible. The statement, “If you can dream it, you can achieve it”, is totally correct. The only thing, or rather person, stopping you is YOU.
What have I done to move through these obstacles? It took some time. I’ll be honest there is a lot on my plate and I do wonder if I’ll be able to fit it all in, today.
Did you catch that? Today. That word is so powerful and can bring you tremendous freedom. Just do what you can do TODAY. Don’t worry about tomorrow. Oh, by all means set some business goals for 30 days, 90 days, 1 year, 5 years, and beyond but don’t allow yourself to become overwhelmed by them. Just remember the only way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time. In business you simply take it one day at a time.
Next, you must focus only on what you have control over. You don’t have control over other people. You don’t have control over the attitudes or perceptions of others and you don’t have control over the universe. You must become focused and stay focused on the end result. Let me give you an example. The other day I walked outside where my husband was with our youngest, Philip. When Philip saw me he started to run toward me. He was heading straight for me until he looked down at the ground. Once he took his eyes off his goal (mom) he headed in a completely different direction that caused him to be literally feet away from me. Stay focused and when you discover that you’ve lost your focus — get it back and start again.
That’s right! In your own home business there are “do-overs”. Everyday can be a do-over. Make a fool of yourself on the phone last night? DO-OVER! Become tongue tied when talking to a family member about what you’re doing? DO-OVER! Make a financial mistake? DO-OVER! In otherwords, learn the lesson and move on — do-over doesn’t mean to make the mistake again. It simply means that you’ve learned the lesson and can move forward with your business.
Finally don’t allow anyone or anything to take your dreams away from you. In times of difficulty turn to your business partners and associates. Surround yourself with the people who will support you in your dreams. They will be able to help you find the way through, over or around whatever obstacle is currently in your way. At this moment I’m reminded of a song in one of the shows my kids like to watch - the Wonder Pets. The Wonder Pets sing a song with words like, “what’s gonna work? teamwork!” That’s precisely how businesses are built — with teamwork. You should be associated with people who can and will be part of your team. Allow them to help you.
Now, go finish your list. Go through each item line-by-line and discover which ones are true reasons and which ones are only excuses. Then come up with your plan for removing the excuses and get busy on your business. It is no longer okay for you to sit there day after day worried about the bills when you could be working on a business right now that can get you out of debt. Truly the only way for you to start living the life you want to live is for you to be the boss in your own business. Only you know what it is you want out of life and only you can get it for yourself. No one is going to come knocking on your door and hand you everything you desire.
“If you dream it, you can achieve it!”

Have you ever been involved in an MLM opportunity? If so, then you know that building a network marketing business can really time demanding and not that appealing.
Let’s face it. Hunting down “prospects”, getting out of your comfort zone to pitch them on your opportunity, and facing daily rejection probably aren’t things that are high up on anyone’s most exciting things to do list.
So is it actually possible to have fun building an MLM business? Many Reverse Funnel System members are doing just that…
When you have a system like The Reverse Funnel System, you don’t ever have to talk to prospects again. You don’t have to talk to them because your marketing attracts people who are really interested, your system educates and closes the ones who are really interested, and you actually make money while you create leads. This eliminates the chance for “human error” and it’s why this system is producing consistent, predictable results for everyone involved. This kind of system frees you up to focus on training yourself and helping your team use the system.
Due to the way that the RFS marketing system works, the only people that you’re really going to have any contact with are those who are genuinely interested in the opportunity and have questions for you, or people who have just joined your team. Imagine for one second what it would be like to never have to talk to a negative or hostile prospect ever again. What would that do for your confidence and attitude?
Can you imagine how much more enjoyable it would be to build an MLM business under those circumstances?

Working from home is a fast growing trend these days. But what most people do is they jump right in with the hopes and dreams of making huge profits before they even think about the fact that there are some disadvantages to working at home.
The benefits do indeed outweigh the drawbacks to working at home, however, you should consider the following disadvantages to working at home before making your final decision.
1) Acknowledge Your Present Job or Career
You may not be able to easily transfer your current career into a work at home situation. For example, if you work as a police officer or in the medical field, you may not be able to easily transition your career to working from home unless you change careers entirely.
Creative jobs like writing and design transfer well, as do, administrative and sales positions. If you cannot make the work at home switch with your present job, you can try to think of something that you would like to do working from home and begin investigating that field.
2) Cost - Disadvantage or Advantage?
You can decide if working from home is right for you by determining the cost factor. Many moms will want to stay at home to work in order to save money on daycare. But, when you work from home you are now self-employed.
You will need to get health insurance, which will come out of your own pocket. You will have to pay many taxes and be required to keep excellent records of your income and expenses, so you can fill out your end of year tax return.
3) Working at Home with Children
It is not as easy as it may seem to work at home with children. If your children are too young to be in school yet, it is usually pretty difficult to get any work done when they are awake. You will get most of your work done when they are sleeping during naptime and later at night.
Family members may not mind taking care of the children from time to time, but in the end both the children and the job are your responsibility. It is easier to work from home with older children, but you will still need to have a balanced schedule in order to get all the things done that you need to do.
4) Discipline and Self-Motivation
In order to accomplish everything that you want to you will need to be disciplined and self-motivated. If you need encouragement by others to keep going, then I wouldn’t recommend that you work from home. You will not have anyone looking over your shoulders and making sure the job is being done. Many distractions can get in the way, such as TV, friends, family, housework, emails and surfing the Internet.
5) Isolation
