Praise the Lord! I now am part of a community of like minded entrepreneurs, women who understand the journey to financial and time freedom. Women who understand the meaning of working as a team to accomplish goals that will help themselves while at the same time help many others. We understand the journey to financial freedom and collectively we will support one another in the attainment of our individual goals.

My journey began as my 28 year career of faithful service to a large pharmaceutical company came to an end with the all too common corporate downsizing. Being downsized led to some serious soul searching about what my career move should be. I knew corporate America was not for me and that I needed to do something that would change my life in a major way. My desire was to help people not just contribute to a corporations bottom line. I wanted to achieve financial goals in a life changing business working with others that shared my Christian values. I desired financial and time freedom that would allow me to spend time with those dearest to my heart while helping others do the same.

Financial freedom is a goal that is shared by many; sadly many are not willing to step out in faith and pursue their dreams. I believe God has given each one of us a unique purpose and if we are to be truly fulfilled we must know that purpose and live according to its principles. Learning what our purpose is requires introspection and integrity. Stopping to reflect on our past, present and what we hope our future will be helps us to better understand our purpose. For me, consulting God’s Word and committing to live by the values outlined helps me continue on life’s purposeful journey, one that will honor the Lord and allow me to honor myself and others.

Living an honorable life with financial freedom and the associated time freedom is achievable through involvement in a life changing business. A life changing business worked in the peace and comfort that my home provides. Working with a tranquil mind allows me to more effectively support others. Helping others understand they too can have peace and sanity while earning an income that gives them the lifestyle they are seeking is truly a joy.

Working is good for us. Working productively and achieving personal goals that allow me to be free to focus on my life passions is a blessing. Having reached a mature age I realize more and more how quickly time goes by. Looking back I see mistakes made and I see how much time was invested in working outside of the home at the expense of providing a nurturing environment for my family. I cannot undo the past; however, I choose to learn and shape my future so that I can be available and tangibly helpful to my family and many others. I seek happiness through giving my time, talent and energy to support life goals for others, especially women and children.

Working with Christian women who are courageous and willing to share themselves for the good of others is a precious gift. Being open minded and hopeful for a future that serves my God and allows me to live a life of prosperity is my stance. This does not mean being greedy or self-serving, it means being grateful, positive and balanced. Theses attributes will lead to financial freedom in a life changing business that is growing daily.

Thankfully, a community of Christian women in business is motivational and provides the necessary support needed for personal growth. Financial freedom does not happen over night, but takes time, commitment and perseverance. These additional excellent qualities are great to have and will help me continue on a successful journey. Keeping my focus on God in the company of other Christian entrepreneurs will encourage me as I seek to encourage others. Remembering always that it is the love of God I seek to emulate will keep my mind and actions focused in the right direction.

Keeping track of your data is absolutely necessary in order to massively grow a home-based network marketing business. I know from experience that skipping over this daily task will keep you in the constant activity of treading water. You have no idea how much money you have spent, what works, what does not work, and most importantly, what you need to do to change what is not working.

Not only will tracking your data save you countless hours, tons of energy and money you do not need to spend, it will act as a roadmap to success for you to easily follow. Here are 4 reasons why.

1. Provides A Snapshot Of Your Business
When you become the owner of your own home-based business, you have to learn to wear many different hats. You can no longer rely on your boss to tell you what to do, so you have to be your own boss. This means you have to force yourself to keep track of every aspect of your business if you want it to succeed. This will provide you with an overall snapshot of what works and what doesn’t work as you design your plan of action. When you see all of your efforts in front of you on paper, it’s easy to track your progress and follow any kind of track you may be on…whether it’s good or bad.

For example, I kept guages of an online business plan that I joined. I tracked how much money I was spending, how much money I was making, how many people I was recruiting, etc. What I found was a loss of $500 after 3 whole months following a plan designed by someone else, and they wanted me to “keep going” with it. I don’t know about you, but I couldn’t see myself being out $2,000 by the years’ end, so I quit the system. It was that set of guages that pushed me to seek not just another program, but one that would actually guarantee a profit or my money back. Now my new set of guages show a continuous profit, and I would never have had found it without keeping track of every aspect of my business.

2. Pinpoints Your Strengths
Keeping track of what works for you is how you find the techniques that will make your business move in the right direction. Everyone has different strengths, so what works for one person might not work for another. That is why it is so important not to pull you hair out in frustration when someone says they made a huge profit from hosting a home party, while your house is always empty. (Not that anyone has ever become rich from holding home parties, but you get my drift.) Knowing what you do specifically is important because you ultimately want to work from home in your own special way. If you blindly follow other people and what works for them, you might as well go punch a time clock somewhere else and be an employee.

Keeping track of your strengths and what works for you is important because you can narrow them down to the point where eventually all you are doing is what works for you. It takes time and affort to get to this point, but when you begin with proper education on proven techniques (not taught by most network marketing companies), the process becomes even more powerful. Can you imagine waking up in the morning knowing that all you have to do is spend a few hours working a plan that you yourself designed that will allow you to profit a couple thousand dollars before it’s even time for lunch? It’s only possible when you keep track of your strengths.

3. Pinpoints Your Weaknesses
Knowing what you are doing wrong is just as important as knowing what you are doing right. Success is a pathway paved from the cobblestones of failure. You simply can not try new things without failing, so why not keep track of your failures and learn from them? Think of the great list of failures you could have to repeatedly look at to remind yourself of what doesn’t work. Your focus will automatically turn to what works. When you spend the majority of your time on what works (based on knowing what doesn’t work), you will have found success.

I personally spent many years placing flyers on car windows, hanging signs at every intersection I drove through and stapled flyers to any bulletin board I saw. I even placed business cards in telephone booths. What I learned was that these tactics didn’t get my business going, so I no longer use them. The reason I learned they did not work was because I kept track of every cent I spent on it and how much money I made for my efforts. It wasn’t too good, so I kept trying different things in order to find my success formula. Keeping track of what didn’t work ultimately led me to seek and find education designed specifically to help me get my businesses off the ground.

4. Provides A Roadmap To Success
When you keep track of what works and what doesn’t work, your time, energy and money, it will provide you with a roadmap to success. All of the numbers and statistics will begin to make sense once they start pointing you in the right direction. It is the only map you really need to find what you are looking for, but most people do not take the time to just look at their businesses long enough to find out what it takes to create the map for themselves.

This roadmap is like following the yellow brick road to OZ. It will lead you to a magical place filled with everything you have ever wanted. Sounds kind of corny, but it really is true. Success is not a destination, it’s a journey. Along that journey you will encounter all the necessary ingredients for success. Problems, hope, friends, challenges, hills, valleys, decisions and everything else successful people endure. When you sift through what does not work and only follow what does work on that journey, your path will suddenly begin to lead you instead of you choosing which one to take.

There are a lot of details to which you need to pay attention in order to successfully grow a business and keep it moving forward. Simple daily activities seem so unimportant because they alone do not make an immediate impact, but over time it takes a toll. Understanding this is part of the mindset that it takes to bring in 20-30 people a week into your business. It was only when I decided to buckle down and really focus on keeping guages that I pulled myself out of the deep water in which I was sinking. From that point on is where I followed my activities, found what worked and what didn’t, then simply applied only the aspects of my business that were working.

I help other people learn from my mistakes because I believe there is no need for a 95% drop-out rate in network marketing. All it takes is the proper educaton and a change in the way you do your thinking.

Timothy Ferriss’s best selling book “The 4-Hour Workweek” has peaked alot of interest and stirred up some controversy. Many people are wondering, how exactly can someone only work 4 hours a week and actually earn a decent living?

For those who haven’t read the book, Ferriss outlines the path to a 4 hour work week in 4 detailed steps. The steps are as follows: definition, automation, elimination, and liberation. While the four hour work week could never be achieved without steps 1,2, and 4, it is the automation step that is the meat and potatoes of the process.

Automation includes creating, starting, and ultimately automating your own business. While he does have suggestions for the corporate warrior to lessen his or her workload, a four hour work week can never truly be achieved while working for someone else. Ferris refers to this liberating process as a muse.

Finding one’s own unique muse can be a problem for some. In “The 4-Hour Workweek” Ferris recommends marketing a product that fills the need of a niche that the reader is a member of. Still, this is easier said than done, and many have read the book with good intentions yet have never made it past the muse stage.

The good news is that there are other options beyond muse creation for those looking for a four hour workweek. Network marketing and direct sales have changed in recent years, the industry is no longer limited to selling toothpaste and lotions. There are some high quality products and companies out there which can function as muses and start people on the path to automation. Some of these products allow people to sell high ticket items, which is one of Ferriss’s requirements for reaching a 4HWW.

So you’ve been successful at selling your MLM product but you know that the real success and income comes when you add others to your downline that will in turn add others to theirs and so on and so forth. Read this MLM training tip and you will be on your way to adding business builders to your downline!!

I’m having trouble sponsoring people who actually do something. I haven’t sponsored 1 business builder. My sponsor says I’m not talking to enough people, I’m not talking to the right people - those with a big enough why, or I’m not connecting emotionally to people. So, that’s great but how do I correct this? I’m selling lots of product but not building a team… what can I do? Shay

Hello Shay, thank you for your question.

If I may clarify, I believe Shay’s real question is: How do I find business builders?

Shay has come up with possible reasons for the lack of business builders sponsored into the team: Not talking to enough people, not talking to the right people and not connecting emotionally with people. My guess on the “not connecting emotionally with people” has to do with not inspiring someone (with words) to go after their dreams.

Alright, let me help all of you by sharing some MLM training tips that will answer Shay’s question.

Not talking to enough people and not talking to the right people is ALWAYS the network marketing industry’s reason for everything. It might be in your case, I don’t know as I don’t know how many people you talk to. I’ll give you the guide lines and you decide if you’re talking to enough people.

In my MLM training I recommend a product called Pocket Tracker to measure your productivity. Using this product correctly, you should be scoring no less than 40 points per day as a part-time person and 100 per day as a full time person.

When you talk to people using the Inviting Formula below, which is a sequence to invite your prospect to look at either your business or product;

1. Greet
2. Qualify
3. Invite
4. Close to action
5. Handle questions/objections
6. Follow up/follow through

you will Qualify them in the 2nd step. In the qualify step you’re finding out what the prospect needs/wants or doesn’t want. A vital part of your MLM training is learning the ability to “inspire” someone based on what you have discovered your prospect’ needs, wants or doesn’t want.

For you to sponsor the “right” people has to do with the qualifing step also. It’s in this step that you determine if they qualify to do the business and if you want to help them - this is how you sponsor the right people.

Whether or not you build business builders or not (notice I didn’t say “find” business builders) has to do with how effective your MLM training is. When you say “I haven’t sponsored 1 business builder”, that leads me to think that you may be thinking these people are found instead of built. I’m not saying you can make a business builder out of EVERYONE, but I am saying that business builders are built.

Through all the above I have basically - and on purpose - changed your question to something that is solvable.

How do you build a business builder?

1. Qualify people and make sure they have something they really want to achieve.

2. Sponsor them and immediately get them on Pocket Tracker to determine what they can’t do well. This is explained in detail on the CD that comes with Pocket Tracker.

3. Work with them on THAT thing they can’t do well, until they can do it well. Have them continue with Pocket Tracker until you locate the next thing they can’t do well. Work with them on THAT until they can do that well also. Continue until they can do all the steps of Pocket Tracker.

4. They will be inspired - not because you spoke poetry to them, but because you showed them (through their eyes) that they could do it.

5. Congratulations, you have “found” a business builder.

Make sure you take the time to re-read this MLM training tip and learn from it. Building a your business and adding other business builders to your MLM business is the key to reaching the your goals.
