Private Label Rights (PLR for short) is a great idea and can be very useful, but profiting from it can be more difficult than we would like. Of course you can use it for contents - on your site, blog, in your ezine etc. Easy, no big deal. True, however, when you’re trying to sell it, you may soon discover that your distribution- and promotional channels are meager and not up to the task. What’s even more annoying you are soon going to discover that there are quite a lot of other people trying to profit from the same PLR stuff you’re trying to sell. (If the stuff is worth anything in the first place, of course.) And, sad to say, some of them much more powerful, better placed and more skillful than yourself.

There is, however, a method of using PLR allowing you to earn real cash from it. It is not very complicated or anything… It’s simply not often used, or at least rarely taught. I know it for I discovered it for myself and I’m really glad I did! The method is translating the PLR stuff to another language (or other languages) and distributing it to people for whom that another language is their native tongue. For example you translate PLR stuff written (as it almost exclusively seems to be) in English, translate it to Polish, and then distribute it to people speaking Polish (and most often living in Poland). Which would be exactly what I did. Of course being a Pole somehow makes such an idea more obvious and its execution somehow easier - but let’s not exaggerate, you can do the same using hired people or personal contacts. Which, by the way, would be a fine example of outsourcing, in which I happen to be a great believer.

Allow me please a little digression: I think it’s nice that there are some method of profiting from the Web that are easier for people speaking other tongues than English and living in, well… less developed (in Internet marketing categories at least) countries than e.g. US of A. I still keenly remember how I struggled to be earning online when PayPal wasn’t available to people living in my country, and to make it more difficult I had no credit card and there were some pretty strict rules about foreign money transfers. And it was just a couple of years ago. That whole situation, by the way, was exactly what made me to try the method I’m trying to describe to you right now.

You get the idea? You take some good PLR stuff, you translate it to your own native tongue or to some other tongue, or perhaps find some people who would translate it to their native tongue… And for distribution you contact people who are in the business of selling books or ebooks for the chosen market and in the chosen language. They sell it through their usual channels and you get a commission you agreed upon. That’s the general idea. I will describe it for you in much greater detail some other time.

We were speaking mainly about PLR but in the title we also have PD, that is Public Domain. Those things are, from our point of view at least, closely related. From my own experience I would say that PD is even better, more powerful and there’s simply more really good, really attractive and sellable texts in Public Domain, than there are in the PLR. We’re talking books here, it’s different with short articles and such, but it’s exactly books that you would like to publish in the way I’m describing.

Of course there are a couple of important differences in the way one would handle those two sources - PLR and PD. The most important is that PD must be treated with much more respect, as, after all, it’s somebody else’s work and not yours. PLR, on the other hand, can be changed (hopefully for better), stitched, grafted, abridged, twisted and embellished. (And that no matter whether you want to be considered the author or not.)

OK, that’s it - that’s the general idea. I really recommend you give it a serious consideration for, as I said, I have tested it and found it most pleasant and profitable. It’s especially tasty with a good dose of healthy outsourcing but that’s what’s it all about in my opinion. (Even more so because the present economic crisis is making outsourcing easier and easier with each day.) If you agree, and if you find the whole idea convincing, jump on it and make some strangely effortless money. True, Poland and the Polish language are already taken, but there’s the whole wide world - with all those lingos and all those national markets. And they are waiting… For whom are they waiting? For you, my friend, they’re waiting you!

“Just make a list of your family and friends in and invite them to a meeting.” If you’ve been in network marketing for any period of time, or even if you’re brand new, you’ve most likely heard this 50 times or more by now. In fact, the entire network marketing industry seems to rely on this same ancient strategy to build their businesses to this day. If this is what you hear your sponsor telling you this, then I’ve got news for you: Your family and friends are probably your worst target market. Here’s why:

They don’t have the mindset

The journey to where you are today didn’t happen overnight. Like many others, I’m sure you heard about network marketing many, many times before you ever even considered joining a business. In fact, you probably laughed the idea off most times before. See, it took you being in a certain mindset at a certain point time in or if you to accept the concept of network marketing.

Maybe you were just sick and tired of being sick and tired, or maybe you had had enough of being broke all the time struggling from paycheck to paycheck. Maybe you got tired of taking orders from a boss at a job you hate, or you were recently laid off from your job and had no other choice. Whatever the reason, there were a certain series of events that lead you in this direction and created the mindset that you have today to cause you to join or to even look at joining a network marketing company.

So here’s the rub. Your friends and family most likely don’t have the same mindset that you do, and you shouldn’t expect them to either. Unless they’ve gone through a similar set of circumstances, joining a network marketing company could be the furthest thing from their mind. Here’s one thing for sure; if they did have the same mindset, you’d probably already know about it.

They’re not in the market for what you’re selling

Depending on what your product is, your friends and family are probably not in the market for it. It doesn’t matter what the product is. You could have the best thing since sliced bread and it won’t make a bit of difference two your friends and family. Why? Is it because you’re product is bad? No. They just don’t have a need right now. It’s like saying because you’re selling cars that your friends and family should want one, because everyone who drives needs a car. Well, that’s a true statement, but maybe they like the car they have, or maybe they just got a car, or maybe they’re just not in the market for a car right now, or maybe they don’t want your type of car. It doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with your car though.

So what do you do?

You don’t want to be looking for people who want your product; you want people who want your product looking for you. It’s the difference between ringing prospects phones off the hook and having them ring your phone off the hook. It’s about setting yourself up so you are the answer to that question someone is asking at that very moment. The only way you can do that is through effective marketing, or better yet effective attraction marketing.

If you want to be a top performer in your network marketing company, then you want to stop focusing on becoming an expert at your product and your company, and instead, start focusing on becoming a master marketer. When you become a master marketer, you can market any product, not just the one from your company. Why? Because there are always people looking for what you have, and if you know where they are, you can market to them. The Master Marketers are those people who can become a top performer in one company, and then leave and become a top marketer in a completely different company. This should be your entire focus. Search on the internet for marketing systems, or get yourself connected up with someone who will teach you how to market. Make a commitment today to become a master marketer and you can shoot right to the top of your company’s ranks.

Few months ago I was recommended by one of my friends to give stock marketing a try; I had never touched the stock market in my life before! So I asked my friend how to start and he told me there is new software there which is very capable and it can make my money double very fast. If you’ve been looking at home based businesses for any period of time, then you have no doubt come across the terms multi-level marketing (or MLM for short) and Direct Sales. These are the two most common business models for home based businesses. But do you really know the difference between these models and which one is right for you? While there are many differences, we’ll explore 3 key ones here.

Payment & Profit

When starting your home based business you’re looking to earn maximum profit as quickly as possible. Now that sounds like a fairly obvious statement. Yet, one of the key differences between Direct Sales and MLM is when and how much you get paid.

In an MLM business, your commission is a small percentage of your overall sale, typically somewhere between 6 — 9%. That means if you made a $4000 sale, your commission would be about $280. The reason your commission is so small is because in an MLM the sale is being distributed amongst many people throughout the overall organization. In a Direct Sales business, typically the majority of profit from a sale goes to you, and can represent about 50% of the overall sale. So, the same $4000 sale would net you a commission of about $2000. Remember, it’s the same amount of work and effort to make the sale, yet the MLM the commission is $280 and the Direct Sales commission is $2,000.00.

Now let’s look at when those commissions are paid to you. In most MLM companies there can be a lag time of anywhere from 20 to 25 days to receive your check once you complete a month’s worth of work. This means, if you made a sale in the first week of the month, you would have to wait until the end of the month, plus an additional 20 — 25 days for the check to reach you. That’s as much as six weeks! In Direct Sales, typically the products are purchased directly from you meaning that you are paid today for a sale made today.

Sales Quotas

Another major difference between MLM and Direct Sales companies is quotas. Typically in an MLM company, you are required to purchase products each month to maintain a certain volume. Additionally you’re required to have a certain number of distributors in your downline who are also purchasing products. Anytime either of these numbers are missed, then you risk losing your commission check for that month. It’s possible to have a scenario where you maintain the correct volume throughout the month, only to have one person drop out of your organization just before the end of the month causing you to miss out on a that month’s commission check.

In most Direct Sales organizations, there is no quota. You’re compensated on your actions when you make sales and don’t have to rely on a certain number of people being in your business in order for you to get compensated on the work that you do, regardless of what that is.

Residual Income

So this leads us into the conversation of residual income. As we discussed, MLM commission checks are notoriously small per sale, which means you are heavily reliant on work other people do, which means you have no choice but to recruit a large downline in order to build any “reasonable” check. No matter how much you do, if they don’t build, you’re doomed to a small check. This means you’re more of a babysitter than business builder.

Additionally, don’t believe that once you’ve built up a sizable commission check that you can just “retire” from your MLM business and live off that residual. The minute you step away from your MLM business (even if it’s for a month) your business starts to dwindle, and that’s because you’ve removed a key component — you. Once you’re leadership and motivation is gone, so does the size of your commission check. And get this; it goes a lot faster than it took to build.

In Direct Sales, you’re paid large commissions, you’re paid right away, and you’re paid for the work you produce. You have an opportunity to invest those large commissions anyway you see fit to continue to grow your income. It’s called an exit strategy and it’s something you can do a heck of a lot quicker in Direct Sales than you could with an MLM. Once again, it’s your business on your terms.

Choosing to have your own business is infinitely better than continuing to work a job. But how soon you can quit your day job and retire from your home business is entirely dependent on which model you choose. If you’re looking for maximum profit and complete control over your financial future, then Direct Sales is absolutely the way to go.
