As a network marketer, do you think that you may have encountered some pitfalls that have affected your business? It’s possible.
For a new distributor, things need to be kept simple. As a network marketer, you may have been in the business a long time and are quite familiar with the “ins and outs”. A downline is half of you in knowledge and wants to duplicate you in every aspect of the business.
Turning ducks into eagles is like getting the duck to soar and the eagle to quack. A “soaring” duck will fall to the ground and will quack louder. Unfortunately not all downlines are like eagles. Attempting to turn a downline duck into a downline eagle produces increased duck quaking which in turn produces more quacking ducks, spreading negativity throughout the company. A successful seasoned network marketer is looking for eagles who are willing to soar with the company. With sharp eyes, a downline is able to swoop down and successfully “nail” another downline with equal vision for a successful venture.
If a downline is willing to accept token income and is not willing to set his monetary goals higher, than their contributed effort will only be half hearted. Enough momentum is not achieved and tangible income is not realized. Either, it’s all the way or not at all. A good illustration is about a plane ready to take off. It needs enough momentum to take off, perhaps 150 miles per hour. If that speed is not exceeded the plane will not take off, even at 149 miles per hour.
Begging is such an unattractive quality. You wine and dine a perspective downline, telling him all about the opportunities he/she will enjoy if he/she were to join your team. You “lay the cards on the table”, making sure they are informed as to what is expected of them. Two hours are spent and at the end, nothing. You are out an employee as well as out money.
Become a physician and avoid advanced pitfalls for yourself. Expose a downline’s “sickness” and then prescribe “medicine” to generate interest and help them understand their personal needs and what it is they need to do in order to contribute and become a “healthy” network marketer.

The Talker…These people definitely are crowd pleasers. They simply love to talk. Unfortunately they are also capable of giving all kinds of excuses as to why something wasn’t done or the perceived results were not turned in. Their sincerity has ingratiated them into the team. One really good way to use their skill is to have them invite all of their family and friends to home parties or rallies. After all being the center of attention, who could refuse their “gift of gab.” These individuals are doing what they do best and that is to talk. You, on the other hand, are building a friendship with their invitees and that is good for business.
Mr. or Ms. Know-it-all and Heard-it-before…These people attend all trainings, take copious notes but fail to bring results. Attempting to educate a “know it all” is very hard and motivating them to success equally so. Open minds are not a part of their makeup as they have already heard it all and are not willing to even listen to what you may have to say. With arms folded, their stubborn stance allows them little moving room since nothing new can be taught them. The speaker can even be criticized secretly even though he/she is attempting to update and reinforce skills. These types of people would probably see little monetary gains due to their personal vast knowledge of successful network marketing and their stubborn refusal to learn anything new about this industry.
If a person is attempting to sell you their products, he/she may not be willing to listen to what you have to say. Unfortunately, the negotiator will only join your network if the “price is right.” Then dealings may be negotiated with your network and your people cross over to the “dark side.” As a spy, the negotiator may become deeply entrenched in your network making it too late to have them removed. The more established network marketers may take weeks to join your company. Joining with “weaker” net workers may provide connections with their leaders which in turn will allow you to connect through them due to their affiliation with their leaders.

These days the rising costs for everything from housing, fuel, and food have become a fact of life and many of us are considering taking a second job in order to make ends meet. The costs for gasoline and diesel have reached new highs lately and this has driven up the price for just about everything else. Higher fuel costs mean higher transportation costs and these costs are passed on to you each time you make a purchase.
Many families today are feeling this pinch and are looking for ways to effectively deal with rising prices. Rising unemployment is an added concern. This can be a particularly devastating to those workers laid off especially if you are the primary bread winner in your family. With over 463,000 layoffs in the US alone so far this year, an ever increasing number of us would be glad to have any job at all.
The double whammy of rising costs and a sluggish economy has put many of us in a financial bind.
Getting a second job may be an option for some to get out of their personal financial tight spot but not everyone is in a position to take on a second job. Single parents are especially hard hit because the cost of providing care for their children while they are at work many times cuts too deeply into their paycheck to make taking a second job worthwhile.
Some would say that you could always start your own business. This may be true but starting a business takes a great deal of time and usually a considerable amount of money and there is still no guarantee that the business will survive let alone become profitable. Besides, you need money right now, not three of four years from now or whenever your new business happens to become profitable.
Several options are commonly considered. One such option is to seek a pay raise at your existing job. This option can work if you have positioned yourself at your current workplace as having earned a raise and your company is in a financial position to grant your request. Not all companies have the financial resources to offer pay raises due to the tightening economy in general. As a matter of fact, an increasing number of companies are actually reducing their workforces and laying off workers.
Another option commonly pursued is to take a second job in hopes of gaining ground in the face of rising prices. This option can work if you have the time and energy to follow through with this plan. Naturally, you would need to locate an employer able to offer you gainful employment. In our presently tight economy the pool of such employers looking to hire part time workers is rapidly shrinking.
Taking a second job for a great many workers simply is not possible due to the limitations of time, personal energy, or family obligations. Caring for younger children or older family members takes time and paying for these services many times costs as much or more than what can be earned through a second job.
What is an honest person to do?
Answer: Shift your thinking.
Consider this: Right now, if you have a job chances are you are trading your time and energy for your paycheck. In other words you are trading time for money. In most cases the more hours you work - the more money you have coming in.
But there is a rub.
You only have a fixed number of hours per day to work. You are limited as to the maximum number of hours you have available to trade for money. Especially if you currently working full time.
What I suggest is a shift in the concept of trading time for money.
In other words, what you need is a method to increase your income that does not require you to punch a clock and trade your time for money.
Sound impossible?…

The Unselfish Wealth 4×6 team building system matrix is getting its members paid faster than any other team building system on the planet! This may sound like an exaggeration but once you finish reading this article, you will see how every word is true. Here’s how this works out for Frank and Helen
Frank’s 1st line will consist of 4 personally sponsored members. Helen’s 1st line will consist of 4 personally sponsored members. Frank and Helen both receive the $20.00 Fast Start Bonuses, for the first 4 members, and the Matrix Bonuses (residual income) for the next 4 levels and now qualify to become an Area Director in Travelencia. At this point, they would both upgrade their membership in Travelencia from a Silver level ($19.95 a month) to a Gold level ($49.95 a month) so they would also qualify to receive
the Matching Matrix Bonuses from their first 4 levels. The Matching Matrix Bonus pays a percentage of the Matrix Bonus income that your personally sponsored members earn, starting at 100% matching on your first level. You must be a Gold level member to qualify for the Matching Matrix Bonuses.

Because Frank joined Travelencia through Unselfish Wealth, the remaining 16 people were reassigned to Frank’s 2nd line as personally sponsored members.
Frank’s entire 2nd line is now qualified to become Area Directors. And because they were given personally sponsored members and not spill overs, they also received the initial $20.00 Fast Start Bonuses, the Matrix Bonuses and with an upgraded membership in Travelencia, they now qualify for the Matching Matrix Bonuses. In addition, Frank will also receive $8.00 in Fast Start Bonuses for all of the members, after the first 4, down 4 levels, as well as the Matrix Bonuses.
Now that Frank is an Area Director with 4 Area Directors under him, he is now qualified to become an Executive Director in Travelencia, eligible to receive his equal share of the first Global Bonus Pool. Now, let’s look at what this means for Helen and her team.
Because Helen joined directly through the Travelencia website, she also qualifies as an Executive Director with 20 personally sponsored members, making her eligible to receive her equal share of the first Global Bonus Pool. However, only Helen qualifies for the Fast Start Bonuses of $20.00 for the first 4 members then $8.00 thereafter, through the first 4 levels, and because she is a Gold level member in Travelencia, she also qualifies for the Matching Matrix Bonuses on her first 4 levels. Oh, and let’s not forget that Helen also qualifies for the Matrix Bonuses from her team.
What does Helen’s team make?
They only receive the Matrix Bonuses. They do not qualify for the Fast Start Bonuses because those all went to Helen, as the original sponsor. They do not qualify to become Area Directors because they have no personally sponsored members. All of their members were spill overs from Helen. They would not qualify for the Matching Matrix Bonuses because they have no
personally sponsored members.

And while Helen is making all of the money, her team is making next to nothing. The Magnetic Sponsoring System by Mike Dillard has lost the Title of the Funded Proposal Champion to Daegan Smith and his Power Prospecting System!
Both systems have some similarities in that they:

The differences in these systems are of significance too… as a matter of fact…..these two systems made for a Great Match-Up between these two Funded Proposal Masters. After my analysis of both systems, I have seen both Daegan and Dillard go toe-to-toe with each other and almost TKO each other, but Daegan delivered the final Power Punch by adding the most important feature in his system… what is it you ask?
Well, besides all of the other things that I will be discussing throughout the rest of this article, the most important thing about Daegan’s system is that it allows you to BRAND YOURSELF from the very beginning. THIS IS CRUCIAL, I hope you understand. So. the people you send through this Funded Proposal funnel see you from the very beginning… your name, email address, and phone number, your main company website, and picture (p.s. you choose which of this you want to be included).
Okay, I need to continue this by saying Mike Dillard’s book Magnetic Sponsoring was one of the best books I have ever read on becoming and Alpha Leader and if you are familiar with Dillard’s funded proposal, you know his products are stellar. Also, another good thing about Dillard’s system is that there is a community of networkers, which you can choose to network with if you would like to. I have used Magnetic Sponsoring in the past and it is a good funded proposal system and I will always make money from it even though I will not promote or market it much anymore.
But to continue on… the thing with Dillard’s system is unfortunately “Your Prospects” are basically being branded with Mike Dillard’s name, pictures, emails, and stories, each time they get an email from him, which, do not brand you at all, whatsoever….zilch…..na-da….nothing….get the hint…as a matter of fact he never even mentions your name anywhere… (oops..kinda makes you think right?
Quick Tangent- I see Anne Sieg’s “The Renegade Network Marketer” as very similar to Mike Dillard’s sytem, she is also Branding herself and not you… so in my opinion, if you are not branding yourself… then you are branding someone else….right?
If you are a Network Marketer/Internet

Spending a lot of money joining other companies and not getting anyone to join yours is not good. You may “scratch” someone else’s back, but they just may not be willing to “scratch” yours. And if that itch isn’t exactly what you wanted or how you figured it should turn out, than this could be another business venture you are willing to throw in due to your poor judgment and your lack of planning.
Promises are made to get people to join. Maybe it is to recruit motivated ones in an effort to motivate their team. Laziness and dependency usually is the result and progress is slowed down. Other less motivated people will expect people to be placed under them, creating a vicious circle of a less than motivated organization. Spillover should only occur when certain conditions are met if you are in a matrix or binary and not let them wait for their uplines. People unwilling to work or “carry the load” should not be allowed to become a player in the game of network marketers.
